Escherichia coli merupakan bakteri patogen Gram negatif dari famili Enterobacteriaceae yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi nosokomial. Jenis penelitian ini ialah deskriptif retrospektif bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi, distribusi, dan pola kepekaan Escherichia coli penghasil Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase (ESBL) dari isolat klinis selama periode Januari 2022 sampai dengan Juli 2023 di ruang ICU dan non-ICU di RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Data yang diambil ialah hasil identifikasi bakteri dan uji kepekaan antibiotik dari isolat klinis di RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh menggunakan alat VITEK® 2 Compact. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari semua sampel yaitu urin, pus, darah, cairan steril, swab (usap) sputum dan ETT (Endotracheal tube) terisolasi dari 520 Escherichia coli dimana Escherichia coli penghasil ESBL sebanyak 365 isolat (70,19%) dan Escherichia coli non-ESBL sebanyak 155 isolat. Berdasarkan parameter yang diuji pada penelitian ini, persentase berdasarkan usia dan jenis kelamin ialah pada rentang usia yang paling tinggi ialah 56- 65 tahun sebanyak 103 isolat (28,21%) dan banyak ditemui pada jenis kelamin wanita sebanyak 188 isolat (52,50%) dibandingkan pada pria sebanyak 177 isolat (48,49%). Persentase Escherichia coli ESBL berdasarkan ruang ICU dan non-ICU menunjukkan bahwa jumlah terbanyak isolat diperoleh pada ruang non-ICU yaitu sebanyak 226 isolat sedangkan ruang ICU sebanyak 139 isolat. Persentase pola kepekaan antibiogram paling tinggi terhadap antibiotik golongan Karbapenem adalah doripenem 100%, imipenem 100%, meropenem 100% serta polymyxin B 100% dan cefoxitin 85%. Penelitian ini menunjukkan resistensi Escherichia coli penghasil Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase (ESBL) tinggi.

Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative pathogenic bacterium belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family, with the capacity to induce nosocomial infections. The present study adopts a retrospective descriptive approach with the primary objective of ascertaining the prevalence, distribution, and susceptibility patterns of Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli isolates obtained from clinical specimens during the period spanning January 2022 to July 2023, encompassing both ICU and non-ICU settings within the confines of RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. The data acquisition process involved the identification of bacterial isolates and their antibiotic susceptibility profiles employing the VITEK® 2 Compact instrument. The results of this research were obtained from all samples, namely urine, pus, blood, sterile fluids, sputum swabs and ETT (Endotracheal tube) isolates from 520 Escherichia coli of which 365 ESBL-producing Escherichia coli isolates (70.19%) and Escherichia coli non- ESBL as many as 155 isolates. Based on the parameters tested in this study, the percentage based on age and gender was in the highest age range, namely 56-65 years, with 103 isolates (28.21%) and was mostly found in women, with 188 isolates (52.50%). ) compared to men as many as 177 isolates (48.49%). The percentage of Escherichia coli ESBL based on ICU and non-ICU rooms shows that the highest number of isolates was obtained in non-ICU rooms, namely 226 isolates, while in ICU rooms there were 139 isolates. The highest percentage of antibiogram sensitivity patterns for Carbapenem class antibiotics are doripenem 100%, imipenem 100%, meropenem 100% as well as polymyxin B 100% and cefoxitin 85%. This research shows the high resistance of Escherichia coli producing Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamase (ESBL).
