Organisasi Nahlatul Ulama (NU) merupakan salah satu organisasi terbesar di Indonesia yang bernafaskan Islam dan mempunyai peranan penting dalam mendukung dan mendorong terhadap penerapan dan pelaksanaan kebijakankebijakan syariat Islam, khususnya di seluruh wilayah Provinsi Aceh. Salah satu wujud peranan penting organisasi Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) sebagai pengawas terhadap penerapan dan pelaksanaan ajaran syariat Islam agar dapat terlaksana secara menyeluruh di wilayah provinsi Aceh. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana optimalisasi peran serta ormas Islam NU dalam pengasawan penerapan syariat Islam yang belum efektif dilaksanakan di provinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian yang merupakan anggota atau pengurus ormas Islam NU. Subjek penelitian ini diambil dengan kaedah teknik purposive sampling iaitu sample bertujuan yang sesuai dengan penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peranan ormas Islam NU secara umumnya sudah optimal dalam aspek pendidikan iaitu ikut berperan serta dalam peneAMrapan pelaksanaan ajaran syariat Islam iaitu melalui konsep dakwah dan ceramah kepada masyarakat Aceh. Namun dalam aspek politik ormas Islam NU belum cukup optimal karena mempunyai fungsi yang terbatas, dimana ormas Islam NU tidak dapat membuat suatu keputusan dan mengambil suatu kebijakan dalam tatacara pelaksanaan penerapan hukum syariat Islam.

The Nahdlatul Ulama Organization (NU) is one of the largest organizations in Indonesia that has an Islamic breath and has an important role in supporting and encouraging the implementation and implementation of Islamic sharia policies, especially throughout the province of Aceh. One manifestation of the important role of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization as a supervisor of the application and implementation of Islamic sharia teachings so that they can be implemented as a whole in the province of Aceh. The purpose of this research is to see how to optimize the role of NU Islamic organizations in supervising the implementation of Islamic law which has not been effectively implemented in Aceh province. This study uses a qualitative research approach that is descriptive in nature. Data collection was carried out by interviewing research subjects who were members or administrators of NU Islamic organizations. The subject of this research was taken using the purposive sampling technique, namely the sample with the aim of the research. The results of this study indicate that the role of NU Islamic organizations in general has been optimal in the aspect of education, namely participating in the implementation of the teachings of Islamic law, namely through the concept of da'wah and lectures to the people of Aceh. However, in the political aspect, NU Islamic organizations are not optimal enough because they have limited functions, where NU Islamic organizations cannot make a decision and adopt a policy in the procedures for implementing Islamic sharia law.
