Aedes aegypti merupakan spesies nyamuk yang menjadi vektor utama penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD). Minyak atsiri sereh wangi (Cymbopogon nardus L.) mengandung citronellal, citronellol dan geraniol yang mempunyai aktivitas sebagai repellent (antinyamuk) yang dapat digunakan sebagai zat aktif dalam sediaan lotion. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kombinasi emulgator tween 80 dan span 80 yang paling optimal serta mengetahui daya repellent dari sediaan lotion minyak atsiri sereh wangi. Formulasi sediaan lotion dibuat menjadi 5 formula dengan konsentrasi kombinasi tween 80 dan span 80 yang berbeda-beda. Konsentrasi tween 80 dan span 80 yang digunakan pada setiap formula adalah F1 (4% dan 6%), F2 (5% dan 5%), F3 (6% dan 4%), F4 (7% dan 3%) dan F5 (8% dan 2%). Hasil evaluasi sediaan menunjukkan bahwa kelima formula menghasilkan sediaan yang homogen, pH yang memenuhi persyaratan, menghasilkan tipe emulsi M/A dan menunjukkan tidak adanya reaksi iritasi pada 30 orang sukarelawan. Pada uji viskositas formula 5 tidak memenuhi persyaratan, pada uji daya lekat formula 4 dan 5 tidak memenuhi persyaratan dan pada uji daya sebar hanya formula 3 yang memenuhi persyaratan. Hasil uji daya repellent pada nyamuk Aedes aegypti menunjukkan pada jam ke-0 daya repellent yang dihasilkan sebesar 100%, pada jam ke-1 sebesar 100%, pada jam ke-2 sebesar 94% dan pada jam ke-3 sebesar 81%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa formula 3 dengan konsentrasi tween 80 sebesar 6% dan span 80 sebesar 4% merupakan formula yang paling optimal dan lotion minyak atsiri sereh wangi yang telah diformulasikan pada penelitian ini mempunyai aktivitas sebagai repellent.

Aedes aegypti is a mosquito species that is the main vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus L.) contains citronellal, citronellol and geraniol which have repellent activity which can be used as active substances in lotion preparations. This study aims to determine the most optimal combination of emulsifier tween 80 and span 80 and to determine the repellent power of citronella essential oil lotion preparations. The lotion preparation formulation was made into 5 formulas with different concentrations of tween 80 and span 80 combinations. The concentrations of tween 80 and span 80 used in each formula were F1 (4% and 6%), F2 (5% and 5%), F3 (6% and 4%), F4 (7% and 3%) and F5 ( 8% and 2%). The results of the evaluation of the preparations showed that the five formulas produced homogeneous preparations, met the pH requirements, produced an O/A emulsion type and showed no irritation reaction in 30 volunteers. In the viscosity test, formula 5 did not meet the requirements, in the adhesion test, formulas 4 and 5 did not meet the requirements, and in the spreadability test, only formula 3 met the requirements. The results of the repellent power test on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes showed that at the 0th hour the repellent power produced was 100%, at the 1st hour it was 100%, at the 2nd hour it was 94% and at the 3rd hour it was 81%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that formula 3 with a concentration of tween 80 of 6% and span 80 of 4% is the most optimal formula and lemongrass essential oil lotion that has been formulated in this study has activity as a repellent.
