Di Indonesia khususnya di Aceh Besar banyak daerah yang memiliki potensi yang besar untuk pengembangan industri pariwisata, namun belum dikelola dengan maksimal, salah satunya adalah Pantai Lhok Mata Ie. Kawasan lhok Mata Ie mempunyai potensi yang sangat besar untuk dikembangkan, namun potensi tersebut masih belum terintegrasi sehingga jumlah wisatawan belum mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi, kendala dan strategi pengembangan wisata di Pantai Lhok Mata Ie Aceh Besar. Penelitianmenggunakanmetodepenelitiankualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian peneliti menemukan potensi pengembangan wisata di Pantai Lhok Mata Ie Aceh Besar yaitu sebagai berikut: keindahan alam, tempat tafakur alam, tempat berkemah (camping), tempat snorkeling, spot memancing dan tempat hiking, sedangkan kendala pengembangan wisata di Pantai Lhok Mata Ie yaitu sebagai berikut: keterbatasan pengunjung perempuan, perbedaan tarif antara laki laki dan perempuan, akses menuju lokasi, fasilitas yang belum memadai, sikap dan perilaku masyarakat. Adapun strategi yang dapat dilakukan dalam pengembangan Wisata di Lhok Mata Ie adalah sebagai berikut: koordinasi yang baik antara pemerintah dan pengelola wisata.

In Indonesia, especially in Aceh Besar, there are many areas that have great potential for the development of the tourism industry, but have not been managed optimally, one of which is Lhok Mata Ie Beach. The Lhok Mata Ie area has enormous potential to be developed, but this potential is still not integrated so that the number of tourists has not increased significantly. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential, constraints and strategies for tourism development at Lhok Mata Ie Aceh Besar Beach. The research uses qualitative research methods. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview and documentation techniques. From the results of the research, the researchers found the potential for tourism development at Lhok Mata Ie Aceh Besar Beach, namely as follows: natural beauty, a place for natural contemplation, a camping spot, a snorkeling spot, a fishing spot and a hiking spot, while the obstacles to tourism development at Lhok Mata Ie Beach namely as follows: limited female visitors, different rates between men and women, access to locations, inadequate facilities, attitudes and behavior of the community. The strategies that can be implemented in tourism development in Lhok Mata Ie are as follows: good coordination between the government and tourism managers.
