Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengkarakterisasi bakteri endofit dari daun bacang (Mangifera foetida Lour.), serta mengetahui kemampuan bakteri endofit daun bacang sebagai inhibitor enzim lipase. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental, yang terdiri atas isolasi bakteri endofit dari daun bacang dan uji aktivitas inhibitor lipase. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah jumlah koloni bakteri endofit yang tumbuh, karakteristik koloni dan sel bakteri secara morfologi, karakteristik koloni bakteri secara biokimia dan persentase aktivitas inhibitor lipase pankreas. Isolat yang digunakan adalah tujuh isolat bakteri endofit hasil isolasi dari daun bacang. Karakteristik mikroskopis diamati dengan melakukan pewarnaan Gram, sedangkan uji biokimia dilakukan meliputi uji Methyl Red-Voges Proskauer (MR-VP), Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Simmons Citrate (SC), uji katalase, uji motilitas dan uji indol. Hasil uji biokimia menunjukkan bahwa bakteri endofit yang diperoleh termasuk ke dalam genus Bacillus, Salmonella, Nitrosococcus dan Enterococcus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, isolat BEDB 7 dianggap berpotensi dijadikan sebagai inhibitor lipase karena memiliki persentase penghambatan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 80%.

This study aims to isolat and characterize endophytic bacteria from Bacang leaves (Mangifera foetida Lour.), and to determine the ability of endophytic bacteria from Bacang leaves as lipase enzyme inhibitors. The method used in this study was an experimental method, which consisted of isolating endophytic bacteria from Bacang leaves and lipase inhibitor activity assay.. Parameters observed in this study were the number of endophytic bacterial colonies that grew, the morphological characteristics of the colonies and bacterial cells, the biochemical characteristics of the bacterial colonies and the percentage of pancreatic lipase inhibitor activity. The isolats used were seven isolates of isolated endophytic bacteria from Bacang leaves. The microscopic characteristics were observed by carrying out Gram staining, while the biochemical tests carried out included the Methyl Red-Voges Proskauer (MR-VP) test, Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Simmons Citrate (SC), catalase test, motility test and indole test. The results of the biochemical tests showed that the endophytic bacteria obtained belonged to the genus Bacillus, Salmonella, Nitrosococcus and Enterococcus. Based on the results, of isolates BEDB 7 research is considered to have the potential to be used as a lipase inhibitor because it has the highest inhibition percentage of 80%.
