Empati merupakan kemampuan individu untuk memahami, merasakan dan menempatkan diri dengan kondisi, sudut pandang, dan perasaan orang lain dan kemudian mengekpresikan situasi dari orang tersebut dengan sikap yang tepat. Empati merupakan salah satu faktor yang penting dalam kehidupan individu untuk meningkatkan perilaku positif kepada orang lain. Sehingga dengan berempati anak diajarkan untuk tidak mementingkan diri sendiri dapat membayangkan apa yang dialami pada diri orang lain dan juga dirinya sendiri serta ikut merasakan apa yang dialami oleh orang tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran empati siswa reguler terhadap siswa berkebutuhan khusus sekolah inklusi SMP Negeri 18 Kota Banda Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 siswa reguler yang berada di SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa reguler di sekolah inklusi memiliki empati yang baik terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus. Gambaran empati kesepuluh responden terlihat sangat baik sesuai dengan aspek afektif dan aspek kognitif siswa. Bentuk empati yang diberikan siswa reguler kepada siswa berkebutuhan khusus yaitu lebih peka dalam memahami keadaan siswa ABK dengan segala keterbatasannya, menghargai perbedaan dan keterbatasan yang ada, dan kemudian dapat lebih menerima siswa ABK dengan menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap siswa ABK seperti bersedia bermain bersama, tidak mengejek siswa ABK, tidak menjauhi siswa ABK, dan membantu siswa ABK yang sedang mengalami kesulitan, kemudian selanjutnya mampu beradaptasi dalam mengatasi perbedaan

Empathy is an individual's ability to understand, feel and relate to the conditions, points of view and feelings of other people and then express that person's situation with the right attitude. Empathy is an important factor in an individual's life to increase positive behavior towards other people. So, by being empathetic, children are taught not to be selfish, they can imagine what other people and themselves are experiencing and also feel what that person is experiencing. This research aims to determine the picture of regular students' empathy towards students with special needs at the inclusive school of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh City. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The subjects in this research were 10 regular students at SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. Data collection techniques use interviews and documentation. The results of this research are that regular students at inclusive schools have good empathy for children with special needs. The empathy description of the ten respondents looks very good according to the affective and cognitive aspects of the students. The form of empathy given by regular students to students with special needs is being more sensitive in understanding the situation of child with special needed students with all their limitations, respecting the differences and limitations that exist, and then being able to be more accepting of child with special needed students by showing a positive attitude towards child with special needed students such as being willing to play together, not making fun of them. The child with special needed students, do not stay away from child with special needed students, and help child with special needed students who are experiencing difficulties, then are then able to adapt to overcome differences
