Peningkatan limbah kain perca yang merupakan sisa kain saat proses pembuatan busana dapat diterapkan dalam mengolah kain perca pada tas mesin jahit portable dengan teknik applique untuk memperindah tas mesin jahit yang berguna bagi mahasiswa untuk mempermudah membawa mesin. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendesain tas mesin jahit portable menggunakan teknik applique dengan memanfaatkan kain perca, membuat tas mesin jahit portable menggunakan teknik applique, dan mengetahui daya tarik mahasiswa Tata Busana Universitas Syiah Kuala pada produk tas mesin jahit portable dengan teknik applique dari kain perca. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi adalah mahasiswa Tata Busana PKK FKIP USK angkatan 2019 dan 2020 sebanyak 149 mahasiswa. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, sebanyak 78 responden. Hasil penelitian mendesain 2 model pada model I membuat tas bentuk persegi panjang dengan penambahan ruang dibagian depan sehingga mempunyai 2 ruang. Motif applique yang digunakan motif bungong Geulima dan bungong awan-awan, bungong kala, dan awan sitangke serta penambahan payet batu pada bagian dalam motif. Penempatan motif applique pada bagian tengah tas. Sedangkan model II peneliti mendesain bentuk persegi, dan hanya memiliki 1 ruang saja. Motif applique menggunakan motif awan sitangke serta penambahan payet mutiara pada bagian pinggiran motif dengan penempatan motif pada sudut tas. Tanggapan responden pada produk secara keseluruhan dinilai dari bentuk, warna dan motif sebagian besar sangat suka 55% pada model I, Sedangkan pada produk model II hanya 50% sangat suka. Dengan demikian responden lebih menyukai model I dibandingkan model II. Model I mempunyai keunggulan desain yang unik dengan dilengkapi ruangan tempat penyimpanan alat menjahit pada bagian dalam serta penempatan motif simetris dan warna yang menarik yaitu warna dasar tas hitam dan warna motif paduan putih biru.

Utilization of Patchwork Fabric with Applique Technique on Portable Sewing Machine Bags The increase in patchwork waste which is leftover cloth during the clothing making process can be applied in processing patchwork on portable sewing machine bags with appliqué techniques to beautify sewing machine bags which are useful for students to make it easier to carry machines. The aim of the study was to design a portable sewing machine bag using applique technique by utilizing patchwork, make a portable sewing machine bag using applique technique, and find out the attractiveness of students of Fashion Design at Syiah Kuala University on portable sewing machine bag products with applique techniques from patchwork. The research method is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The population is 149 PKK FKIP USK Fashion Design students class of 2019 and 2020. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique, totaling 78 respondents. The results of the study designed 2 models in model I to make a rectangular bag with additional space on the front so that it has 2 spaces. The appliqué motifs used are the bungong Geulima and bungong clouds, bungong kala, and cloud sitangke motifs and the addition of sequin stones on the inside of the motif. Place the applique motif in the middle of the bag. Meanwhile, in model II the researchers designed a square shape, and only has 1 room. The applique motif uses the Sitangke cloud motif and the addition of pearl sequins on the edges of the motif by placing the motif in the corner of the bag. Respondents' responses to the product as a whole were judged by shape, color and motif, most of them really liked 55% of model I, while only 50% really liked model II of the product. Thus, respondents prefer model I to model II. Model I has the advantage of a unique design, equipped with a room for storing sewing tools on the inside and placement of symmetrical motifs and attractive colors, namely the basic color of the black bag and the color of the white and blue alloy motif.
