Pesatnya teknologi dibidang fashion, sangat membantu para desaigner menciptakan suatu karya baru yang mempunyai nilai jual cukup tinggi. Salah satu teknologi yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah printing textile untuk membuat baju kaos motif Kerawang Gayo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengaplikasikan motif Kerawang Gayo kedalam sebuah baju kaos untuk mengetahui daya tarik remaja laki laki terhadap baju kaos motif Kerawang Gayo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen terapan. Sampel ditetapkan untuk mengatahui tanggapan tentang motif Kerawang Gayo pada baju kaos. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu Mahasiswa Laki Laki pada Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan 2019 sebanyak 73 orang. Hasil penelitian telah mendesain dua model baju kaos dan telah direalisasikan baju kaos motif Kerawang Gayo dengan teknik printing dan menggunakan Teknik Direct Transfer Film. Pemilihan motif pada kaos model I, peneliti membuat desain dengan menerapkan motif Peger dan motif Pucuk Rebung. Sedangkan pada Kaos Model II didesain dengan menggunakan motif Emun Berangkat pada bagian depan kaos dan menggunakan motif Ulen pada bagian belakang kaos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat ketertarikan responden lebih menyukai kaos model II dibandingkan model I, baik dari kesesuaian dari keseluruhan bentuk motif, bentuk motif utama, penempatan motif, kesesuaian warna kaos dan motif, serta pemilihan bahan. Remaja laki laki tertarik terhadap desain motif Kerawang Gayo yang diaplikasikan pada baju kaos. Penggunaan motif, penempatan, motif dan pemilihan warna disesuaikan dengan karakter remaja. Diharapkan dengan adanya baju kaos motif Kerawang Gayo dapat memanfaatkan teknologi sebagai pengembangan diri untuk memberikan peluang wirausaha secara kreatif dan dapat melestarikan motif daerah dengan proses pembuatan secara digital yang lebih modern dan lebih diminati remaja.

The rapid pace of technology in the fashion sector really helps designers create new works that have a high selling value. One of the technologies that can be used is textile printing to make Kerawang Gayo t-shirts. This study aims to identify and apply the Kerawang Gayo motif to a T-shirt to determine the attractiveness of teenage boys to the Kerawang Gayo T-shirt. This research uses a quantitative approach with applied experimental methods. The sample was set to find out the response about the Kerawang Gayo motif on the T-shirt. The population and sample in this study were male students at the 2019 Teaching and Education Faculty, totaling 73 people. The results of the study have designed two models of T-shirts and have realized the Kerawang Gayo T-shirt with printing techniques and using the Direct Transfer Film Technique. In choosing the motif on the model I shirt, the researcher made a design by applying the Peger motif and the Shoot Rebung motif. Whereas the Model II T-shirt is designed using the Emun Berangkat motif on the front of the shirt and uses the Ulen motif on the back of the shirt. The results showed that the level of interest of the respondents preferred T-shirt model II compared to model I, both from the suitability of the overall shape of the motif, the shape of the main motif, the placement of the motif, the suitability of the color of the shirt and the motif, and the selection of materials. Adolescent boys are interested in the Kerawang Gayo motif design that is applied to t-shirts. The use of motifs, placement, motifs and color selection are adjusted to the teenage character. It is hoped that with the Kerawang Gayo T-shirt, technology can be utilized as self-development to provide creative entrepreneurial opportunities and can preserve regional motifs with a digital manufacturing process that is more modern and more attractive to teenagers.
