Pyometra merupakan kondisi serius pada kucing domestik, dimana terjadi infeksi pada uterus yang dapat bersifat akut atau kronis. Hal ini ditandai dengan adanya pus (nanah) di dalam uterus. Terdapat dua jenis pyometra, yaitu pyometra terbuka dan pyometra tertutup. Ada beberapa metode dalam penanganan kasus pyometra, antara lain dengan tindakan pembedahan atau operasi, pemberian antibiotik dan hormon, serta pembilasan terhadap uterus. Pada kasus ini, seekor kucing dengan gejala lemas, tidak nafsu makan dan perut membesar di bawa ke UPTD Puskeswan kota Solok untuk diperiksa. Berdasarkan hasil anamnesa yang ditunjang dengan pemeriksaan USG menunjukkan bahwa kucing tersebut menderita pyometra tertutup. Tindakan yang dilakukan oleh dokter hewan yaitu melakukan operasi ovariohisterektomi (OH). Selama operasi, status presen kucing diamati secara berkala untuk memantau kondisi hewan. Setelah operasi selesai, kucing ditempatkan di tempat yang bersih dan kering, luka bekas operasi dikontrol dan dijaga setiap hari, serta diberikan antibiotik untuk mencegah infeksi sekunder. Setelah lima hari pasca operasi, luka jahitan sudah mengering dan kucing terlihat sehat. Operasi OH merupakan tindakan penanganan yang aman dan efektif untuk mengatasi pyometra tertutup karena dapat mengeluarkan sumber infeksi dari uterus.

Pyometra is a severe condition in domestic cats indicated by infection in the uterus which can be acute or chronic. This disease was characterized by the presence of pus in the uterus. There are two types of pyometra, namely open pyometra and closed pyometra. There are several methods of treating pyometra, including surgery, treatment using antibiotic and hormone, and flushing of the uterus. In this case, a cat with symptoms of weakness, no appetite and an enlarged stomach was taken to the UPTD Puskeswan, Solok city, for examination. Based on the results of the anamnesis supported by an ultrasound examination, it showed that the cat had closed pyometra. The treatment carried out by the veterinarian was to perform an ovariohysterectomy (OH) surgery. During surgery, the cat's presence status is periodically observed to monitor the aNPMal's condition. After surgery, the cat was placed in a clean and dry place, the surgical wound is controlled and maintained every day, and the cat was given antibiotics to prevent secondary infection. After five days of surgery, the wound had dried and the cat was healthy. Conducting OH surgery is a safe and effective treatment for closed pyometra because it can remove the source of infection from the uterus. Keywords : pyometra, domestic cat, ovariohysterectomy
