This research uses library research. This study aims to determine whether the story mapping technique increases students' reading comprehension. The data analysis uses content analysis. The sources of the data are obtained from previous research, and some literature sources include articles, journals, and papers. Data analysis involves a series of processes: defining the question, collecting the data, cleaning the data, analyzing the data, and presenting the data in the form of descriptions. The results of this study show that the story mapping technique gives improvement to students' reading comprehension ability, in the aspects of vocabulary interpretation, generating the main idea, and identifying the detailed information of the text. It is proved by the students’ scores getting better on post-tests where they used the story mapping technique. It can be conclude that story mapping is an effective technique that can increase students’ reading comprehension. Keywords : Story Mapping Technique, Reading comprehension
