ABSTRAK
Nematoda Setaria sp. termasuk dalam Ordo Spirurida dan famili Setariidae,
Cacing dewasa hidup dan berkembang di rongga peritoneum dan mikrofilaria
berselubung terdapat dalam darah host definitif, Setaria adalah genus cacing yang
ditularkan melalui vektor nyamuk. dan sapi sebagai inang alaminya. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mendeteksi apakah Sapi Aceh yang berada di UPTD Rumah
Potong Hewan kota Banda Aceh terinfeksi cacing Setaria sp. serta mengetahui
morfologi cacing Setaria sp. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian sebanyak 50
sampel yang di ambil dari UPTD Rumah Potong Hewan kota Banda. Metode
pemeriksaan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Knott test dan Metode
Microhematocrit Centrifugation Tecnique (MHCT) untuk mendeteksi keberadaan
dan tingkat prevalensi serta morfologi cacing Setaria sp. Hasil pemeriksaan
terhadap 50 ekor sapi di UPTD Rumah Potong Hewan kota Banda ditemukan
adanya mikrofilaria Setaria sp. dengan tingkat prevalensi sebesar 11,1%. Hasil
pemeriksaan morfologi cacing dengan pewarnaan gliserol menunjukkan spesies
cacing yang ditemukan merupakan Setaria digitata. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini
bahwa sapi Aceh yang dipotong di UPTD Rumah Potong Hewan Kota Banda Aceh
positif terinfeksi oleh mikrofilaria dan cacing Setaria digitata.

ix EXISTENCE AND MORPHOLOGY DETECTION OF WORMS (Setaria sp.) OF ACEH CATTLE SLAUGHTERED AT THE TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTING SERVICE UNIT (OF THE GOVERNMENT) SLAUGHTERHOUSE IN BANDA ACEH ABSTRACT Nematode Setaria belong to Spirurida order and setariidae family. The adult worms live in abdominal cavity freely and their sheathed microfiller exist in blood of their definitive hosts, Setaria is a genus of worms that is transmitted by mosquito vectors. and cows as natural hosts. This study aims to detect whether Acehnese cattle in the technical implementing service unit (of the government) slaughterhouse in Banda Aceh are infected with Setaria sp worms. as well as knowing the morphology of Setaria sp worms. Sampling in this study was 50 samples taken from the Slaughterhouse in Banda City. The examination method in this study used the Knott test method and the Microhematocrit Centrifugation Technique (MHCT) method to detect the presence and prevalence rate as well as the morphology of Setaria sp. using glycerol stain. The results of examination of 50 cows at the Slaughterhouse in Banda City found positive microfilariae Setaria sp. with a prevalence rate of 11.1%. The results of the worm morphology examination with glycerol staining showed that the worm species found was Setaria digitata. The conclusion of this study is that Aceh cattle slaughtered at the technical implementing service unit (of the government) slaughterhouse in Banda Aceh City were positively infected by microfilariae and Setaria digitata worms.
