Danau Aneuk Laot merupakan sumber mata air tawar utama bagi penduduk Kota Sabang. Banyaknya macam aktivitas penduduk disekitar danau menyebabkan berbagai macam masalah seperti kualitas air dan organisme yang mendiami perairan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis jenis-jenis dan struktur komunitas fitoplankton berdasarkan stratifikasi kedalaman serta keterkaitan kualitas air dengan kelimpahan fitoplankton di Danau Aneuk Laot. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2021 di 6 stasiun, serta analisa data dilakukan hingga bulan November 2021 dan pengukuran parameter biologi dilakukan di Laboratorium Biologi Laut, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan serta analisa parameter fisika kimia di analisis di Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri, Banda Aceh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode Purposive sampling, pencacahan plankton menggunakan metode luas lapang pandang dan metode yang digunakan adalah analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Diketahui komposisi jenis fitoplankton yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah dari kelas Bacillariophyceae sebanyak 48% kelimpahan plankton berkisar dari 304461 – 566929 ind/l. Indeks keanekaragaman berkisar antara 1,62 – 2,39, indeks keseragaman berkisar dari 0,63 – 0,89 dan indeks dominansi 0,12 – 0,32. Perbandingan N:P sebesar 1 : 0,5 dengan kandungan fosfat berkisar antara 0,25 – 0,32 mg/l dan termasuk kedalam perairan eutrofik serta kandungan nitrat berkisar dari 0,4 – 0,5 mg/l.

Aneuk Laot Lake is the main source of fresh water for residents of Sabang City. Many activities of residents around the lake causes various kinds of problems such as water quality and the organisms that inhabit the waters. The purpose of this study was to analyze the types and community structures of phytoplankton based on depth stratification and the relationship between water quality and abundance of phytoplankton in Aneuk Laot Lake. This research was carried out in June 2021 at 6 stations, and data analysis was carried out until November 2021 and biological parameter measurements were carried out at the Marine Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries and the analysis of physical and chemical parameters was analyzed at the Research and Industrial Standardization Institute, Banda Aceh. The data collection technique used purposive sampling method, the plankton count used the field of view method and the method used was Principal Component Analysis (PCA) analysis. It is known that the composition of the type of phytoplankton that is most commonly found is from the class Bacillariophyceae with 48% abundance of plankton ranging from 304461 - 566929 ind/l. The diversity index ranged from 1.62 to 2.39, the uniformity index ranged from 0.63 to 0.89 and the dominance index 0.12 to 0.32. The ratio of N:P is 1:0.5 with phosphate content ranging from 0.25 to 0.32 mg/l and belongs to eutrophic waters and nitrate content ranging from 0.4 to 0.5 mg/l.
