Salah Satu penyakit kuda yang bisa merugikan peternak yaitu infeksi bakteri Staphylococcus sp, yang menginfeksi kuku kuda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi bakteri Staphylococcus sp penyebab infeksi kuku kuda asal Aceh Tengah. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah isolat bakteri Staphylococcus sp yang menginfeksi kuku kuda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Carter yang di modifikasi dengan jumlah sampel yaitu 6 yang berasal dari kuku kuda yang ada di Kecamatan Pegasing, Kab. Aceh Tengah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 6 kuku kuda gangren, 3 (50%) sampel positif bakteri Staphylococcus sp. dan 3 (50%) lainnya negatif.

One of the horse diseases that can be detrimental to breeders is Staphylococcus sp bacterial infection, which infects horse hooves. This study aims to isolate and identify Staphylococcus sp bacteria that causes hoof infections in horses from Central Aceh. The parameters observed in this study were isolates of Staphylococcus sp which infect horse hooves. The research method used in this study was the modified Carter method with a total sample of six originating from horse hooves in Pegasing District, Central Aceh.. The results showed that of the 6 gangrene horse hooves, 3 (50%) samples were positive for Staphylococcus sp. and 3 (50%) were negative.
