This study describes the production of American English monophthong vowels produced by a native American English speaker and female Indonesian EFL Learners. The native English speaker and the female students were chosen to generate eleven target vowels, /i/, /ɪ/, /e/, /ɛ/, /æ/, /ʌ/, /ɑ/,/u/,/ʊ/, /o/, /ɔ/. F1 and F2 in Hertz were measured by using PRAAT Software and converted to Bark scale. The result is then presented through vowel space of the F1 and F2 formant plots. The independent samples t-tests were also used for the statistical analysis of the measurements of American English monophthongs vowels between the female students and native English speaker. T-test was used to compare and identify whether the target vowels were produced with identical or different qualities. VassarStats: Website for Statistical Computation, designed by Richard Lowry, was used to perform the online statistical value measurements (1998-2023). The findings revealed that between the eleven monophthongs vowels generated, only two vowels /e/ and /ʌ/ generated similarly by the native English speaker and the female students. Meanwhile, the remaining nine vowels are generated differently. Keywords: native speaker, Indonesian, American English, monophthongs, acoustic analysis, PRAAT software
