Pelaksanaan suatu proyek konstruksi tidak dapat terhindar dari masalah dan kendala dalam proses kegiatannya. Salah satu permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada pelaksanaannya adalah construction waste. Waste yang terjadi dalam proyek konstruksi meliputi waste fisik (hasil sisa material konstruksi) dan waste non-fisik (kegiatan yang menghabiskan waktu dan biaya proyek tanpa menambahkan nilai kepada klien) yang dapat mempengaruhi biaya, waktu dan produktivitas suatu proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya construction waste, mengidentifkasi material yang tersisa atau terbuang dan mengetahui cara penanganan waste pada pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi gedung di Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner kepada kontraktor dan konsultan pengawas yang melaksanakan proyek konstruksi gedung dari tahun 2020 hingga tahun 2021. Data kemudian diuji dengan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas dan selanjutnya di analisis dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa material yang sering tersisa atau terbuang pada pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi gedung menurut persepsi kontraktor dan konsultan pengawas adalah kayu bekisting, triplek dan paku. Faktor yang dominan terjadi yang menyebabkan construction waste menurut persepsi kontraktor dan konsultan pengawas adalah faktor desain yang sering berubah. Cara penanganan yang banyak dilakukan terhadap construction waste yang dihasilkan pada pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi gedung menurut persepsi kontraktor adalah penerapan metode konstruksi yang efisien dan pelatihan kepada pekerja dalam penggunaan peralatan seefisien mungkin. Sedangkan menurut persepsi konsultan pengawas adalah pengontrolan ketepatan jumlah material yang dikirim ke proyek.

The implementation of a construction project cannot be avoided from problems and obstacles in the process of its activities. One of the problems that often occurs in its implementation is construction waste. Waste that occurs in construction projects includes physical waste (results of construction materials) and non-physical waste (activities that spend time and project costs without adding value to the client) which can affect the cost, time and productivity of a project. This study aims to identify factors that can cause construction waste, identify remaining or wasted material and find out how to handle waste in the implementation of building construction projects in Banda Aceh City. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to contractors and supervisory consultants that involve in building construction projects from 2020 to 2021. Data were then tested with validity and reliability tests and then analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. The results of the study found that the materials that were often left over or wasted during the building construction projects according to the perceptions of contractors and supervisory consultants were formwork wood, plywood and nails. According to the perception of contractors and supervisory consultants, the factor that often happened that causes construction waste is design factor that changes frequently. According to the contractor's perception, the most common way of handling construction waste generated during the building construction projects is the application of efficient construction methods and training for workers in the use of equipment as efficiently as possible. Meanwhile, according to the perception of the supervising consultant is controlling the accuracy of the amount of material sent to the project.
