Latar Belakang: Gangguan pendengaran akibat bising disebabkan oleh paparan bising yang cukup keras dan terus menerus dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Pelajar SMK merupakan populasi yang berisiko tinggi terhadap gangguan pendengaran akibat bising. Hal tersebut dikarenakan paparan bising dari mesin atau alat praktikum. Intensitas bising dari alat atau mesin praktikum sering melebihi dari ambang batas yang diperbolehkan. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh intensitas dan durasi paparan bising terhadap ambang dengar pada pelajar SMKN 2 Banda Aceh. Metode: Jenis Penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah pelajar SMK kelas XI dan XII pada jurusan mesin dan otomotif yang bersedia untuk ikut serta dalam penelitian. Sampel pada penelitian ini kemudian diwawancara dan dilakukan pemeriksaan otoskopi dan audiometri. Kebisingan ruangan dinilai dengan sound level meter. Hasil: 121 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dari penelitian ini. Mayoritas sampel pada penelitian ini berusia 16 tahun (47,9%), berjenis kelamin laki-laki (100%), berada pada jurusan mesin (75,2%), tidak pernah menggunakan alat pelindung telinga (93,4%), terpapar bising selama 4-6 hari dalam seminggu (85,1%) dan terpapar bising dengan intensitas >85dB (75,2%). Pada penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa intensitas bising dan durasi paparan bising berpengaruh dengan peningkatan ambang dengar (p=0,001). Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh antara intensitas bising dan lama paparan bising terhadap ambang dengar.

Background: Noise-induced hearing loss is caused by a prolonged exposure to extremely loud and continuous noise. Students in vocational high schools are particularly vulnerable to noise-induced hearing loss. This is caused to noise exposure from engines or practicum tools. The noise level of the practical tool or machine often exceeds the permitted threshold. Objective: Understanding the effect of noise level and duration of exposure on hearing threshold in students of SMKN 2 Banda Aceh. Methods: This is an observational analytics study with a cross- sectional design. The samples of this study is students from classes XI and XII in the engine and automotive disciplines who are willing to participate in the research. The samples in this investigation were then interviewed and assess by otoscopic and audiometry exam. A sound level meter is used to assess room noise. Result: There were 121 samples that met the study's inclusion criteria. The majority of the samples in this study were 16 years old (47.9%), male (100%), were in the machinery department (75.2%), had never worn ear protection equipment (93.4%), were exposed to noise for 4-6 days per week (85.1%), and were exposed to noise with an intensity more than 85dB (75.2%). The intensity of noise and the duration of noise exposure were shown to be linked with an increase in hearing threshold (p = 0.001) in this research.
