Perairan Teluk Rigaih merupakan salah satu wilayah di Aceh Jaya yang memiliki potensi untuk budidaya keramba jaring apung, salah satunya lobster. Produktivitas perairan merupakan salah satu parameter lingkungan yang memiliki pengaruh yang besar terhadap keberhasilan usaha budidaya di perairan terbuka, seperti Teluk Rigaih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas perairan, baik produktivitas primer dan produktivitas sekunder di Teluk Rigaih, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya, dalam mendukung usaha budidaya lobster (Panulirus spp). Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dengan menetapkan tiga stasiun pengamatan, dengan tiga kali ulangan pada setiap stasiunnya. Parameter pengamatan meliputi nilai produktivitas bersih (Net Primary Productivity/NPP), kelimpahan plankton, Indeks keanekaragaman (H’), dan indeks dominansi (D). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai produktivitas primer di Teluk Rigaih berada pada kisaran berkisar 1013,18 -1257,37 mg C/m³/ hr dengan kategori eutrofik (sangat subur), Hasil identifikasi plankton terdapat 4 kelas plankton yang terbagi kedalam 3 kelas fitoplankton (Bacillarophyceae, Chlorophyceae, dan Cyanophyceae) dan 1 kelas zooplankton (crustaceae). Kelimpahan plankton yang didapat berkisar antara 141,84 – 359,52 ind/L. indeks keanekaragaman yang didapat menunjukkan nilai 1,33 - 1,80 dengan kategori sedang. Indeks keseragaman berkisar 0,68-0,93 ind/L dengan kategori tinggi. Dan indeks dominansi menujukkan nilai dengan kisaran 0,18-0,36 dengan kategori rendah. Berdasarkan data yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perairan Teluk Rigaih Kabupaten Aceh Jaya masih dapat mendukung kegiatan budidaya lobster di perairan tersebut.

The waters of Rigaih Bay are one of the areas in Aceh Jaya which has the potential for cultivating floating net cages, one of which is lobster.Water productivity is one of the environmental parameters that has a major influence on the success of aquaculture in open waters, such as Rigaih Bay. This study aims to analyze aquatic productivity, both primary productivity and secondary productivity in Rigaih Bay, Aceh Jaya Regency, in support of lobster farming (Panulirus spp). This research is descriptive in nature, sampling was carried out by purposive sampling method by setting three observation stations, with three repetitions at each station. Observational parameters include the value of net productivity (Net Primary Productivity/NPP), plankton abundance, diversity index (H'), and dominance index (D). The results showed that the value of primary productivity in Rigaih Bay was in the range of 1013.18 -1257.37 mg C/m³/hr with the eutrophic category (very fertile). Chlorophyceae, and Cyanophyceae) and 1 class of zooplankton (crustaceae). The abundance of plankton obtained ranged from 141.84 – 367.44 ind/L. The diversity index obtained shows a value of 1.55 - 1.80 in the moderate category. The uniformity index ranges from 0.68 to 0.93 ind/L in the high category. And the dominance index shows a value in the range of 0.18-0.36 with a low category. Based on the data obtained in this study, it shows that the waters of Rigaih Bay, Aceh Jaya Regency can still support lobster cultivation activities in these waters.
