Osteoartritis (OA) Genu merupakan penyakit sendi paling sering yang berkontribusi signifikan terhadap disabilitas fungsional pasien. Tekanan biomekanis akibat peningkatan beban sendi selama berjalan merupakan bagian dari perjalanan penyakit OA Genu sehingga kondisi tersebut menjadi target potensial untuk strategi terapi dalam menurunkan nyeri dan memperlambat perburukan penyakit. Alat bantu berjalan termasuk lateral wedge insoles (LWI) memiliki peranan penting terhadap OA Genu kompartemen medial karena dinilai mampu menurunkan vektor tekanan pada permukaan tanah relatif terhadap pusat sendi lutut selama berjalan sehingga menurunkan momen adduksi pada pasien OA Genu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh derajat LWI terhadap perbaikan nyeri pada penderita OA Genu Grade Kompartemen medial. Penelitian eksperimental dengan desain studi kohort prospektif ini dilakukan di Poliklinik Ortopedi Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh pada Juli-Agustus 2022. Pasien OA Genu yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dinilai derajat keparahan penyakit termasuk kualitas nyeri lutut menggunakan skor Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index ( WOMAC). Intervensi berupa pemberian LWI dengan tiga sudut kemiringan yaitu 7, 8 dan

Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) is the most common joint disease that contributes significantly to the disability of functional. Biomechanical stress due to increased walking joint load is part of the course of KOA so that the condition becomes a potential target for strategic therapy in reducing and slowing the progression of the disease. Tools including lateral wedge insoles (LWI) have an important role in the medial compartment of KOA because they can reduce the pressure vector on the ground surface relative to the center of the knee joint during walking, thereby reducing the moment of adduction in KOA patients. This study aimed to assess the effect of LWI on pain improvement of patients with KOA grade 2 medial compartment. This prospective study with an experimental design conducted at the Orthopedic Polyclinic of Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital, Banda Aceh, Indonesia, in July-August 2022. KOA patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were assessed for severity of disease including knee pain quality using the Western Ontario and McMaster University Arthritis Index (WOMAC). Intervention was then carried out in the form of giving LWI with three tilt angles, namely 7, 8 and 9 degrees.
