Perkembangan indusri mebel yang pesat, produk fashion yang memanfaatkan limbah kulit sintetis di dunia industri semakin pesat, namun kurang mendapatkan perhatian yang disebabkan kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan limbah. Kebanyakan masyarakat berfikir bahwa limbah hanya mendatangkan dampak negatif. Sebenarnya banyak limbah industri rumah tangga yang dapat dimanfaatkan salah satunya limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel, dimana limbah tersebut dapat di daur ulang setelah divulkanisir dan dimanfaatkan kembali menjadi produk fashion tas yang bermanfaat terlihat menarik dan bernilai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel menjadi produk fashion tas dan untuk mengolah limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel menjadi produk fashion tas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen terapan dengan pendekatan Kualitatif deskriptif, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang narasumber, sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah memanfaatkan limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel menjadi produk fashion tas. Proses pengumpulan data untuk melengkapi penelitian ini dengan menggunakan 3 teknik pengumpulan data yaitu: teknik wawancara, teknik dokumentasi, dan teknik eksperimen terapan. Hasil ekplorasi menunjukan bahwa proses pemanfaatan limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel dapat di manfaatkan menjadi produk fashion tas. Pada penelitian ini, pemanfaatan limbah kulit sintetis sofa industri mebel dimanfaatkan dengan cara membuat produk yaitu tas kreasi sebanyak tiga produk tas dengan model tas yang berbeda. Tas model pertama yaitu model tas hand bag kreasi kayu yang dapat menjadi dua look cara pemakaian, model kedua tas jinjing serut dan model ketiga tas jinjing bahu multifungsi. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menciptakan suatu produk yang berbeda dengan tetap menjaga nilai estetika dan nilai prestige dari produk yang dihasilkan. Disarankan kepada mahasiswa Tata Busana lebih kreatif dalam mengembangkan pemanfaatan limbah kulit sintetis yang dapat digunakan menjadi sebuah produk.

Thesis The rapid development of the furniture industry, fashion products that utilize synthetic leather waste in the industrial world are increasing rapidly, but are receiving less attention due to a lack of public awareness in utilizing waste. Most people think that waste only brings negative impacts. In fact, there is a lot of household industrial waste that can be utilized, one of which is synthetic leather sofa waste from the furniture industry, where this waste can be recycled after being vulcanized and reused into a useful fashion bag product that looks attractive and has value. The purpose of this study was to explore synthetic leather sofa waste from the furniture industry into fashion bag products and to process synthetic leather sofa waste from the furniture industry into fashion bag products. This study used an applied experimental method with a descriptive qualitative approach, the subjects in this study were 3 informants, while the object of this study was to utilize synthetic leather sofa furniture industry waste into fashion bag products. The data collection process to complete this research uses 3 data collection techniques, namely: interview techniques, documentation techniques, and applied experimental techniques. The results of the exploration show that the process of utilizing synthetic leather sofa waste from the furniture industry can be utilized to become a fashion bag product. In this study, the utilization of synthetic leather sofa waste from the furniture industry was utilized by making products, namely creation bags of three bag products with different bag models. The first model is a wooden hand bag which can be used in two ways, the second model is a drawstring tote bag and the third model is a multifunctional shoulder bag. This is done to create a different product while maintaining the aesthetic value and prestige value of the product produced. It is suggested to Fashion Design students to be more creative in developing the utilization of synthetic leather waste that can be used into a product.
