Latar belakang: Gigi tiruan Lepasan adalah protesa yang bisa dikeluarkan dari mulut pasien untuk diperiksa, dibersihkan, serta diperbaiki jika mengalami kerusakan dan sangat berpengaruh positif terhadap kualitas hidup mereka. Sifat porus dari gigi tiruan dapat menyebabkan akumulasi sisa plak yang berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan rongga mulut juga bisa meningkatkan jumlah mikroorganisme dalam rongga mulut seperti jamur Candida Albicans. Tujuan: penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan efektivitas pembersih gigi tiruan dari ekstrak daun nilam (pogostemon cablin) terhadap pertumbuhan candida albicans pada basis resin akrilik. Metode: yang digunakan adalah post test-only control group design untuk melihat Apakah pembersih gigi tiruan dari ekstrak daun nilam efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Candida Albicans pada basis resin akrilik. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 30 sampel dengan diameter 10 mm dan tebal 2 mm dibagi menjadi lima kelompok dengan tiga konsentrasi yang berbeda yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, klorheksidin 0,2 % dan aquades sebagai kontrol negatif. Kemudian di uji menggunakan uji univariat untuk melihat jumlah Candida albicans, uji one-way ANOVA untuk melihat efek perendaman dan uji LSD untuk melihat hambatan. Hasil: penelitian menggunakan uji one-way ANOVA menunjukkan nilai p = 0,000 (p< 0.05) artinya terdapat hasil yang berbeda dan signifikan, kesimpulan: perendaman basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik heat cured dalam ekstrak daun nilam pada konsentrasi 25%, 50%, lebih efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans

Background: A removable denture is a prosthesis that can be removed from the patient's mouth for inspection, cleaning, and repair if damaged and has a positive effect on their quality of life. The porous nature of the denture can cause accumulation of residual plaque which is bad for oral health and can also increase the number of microorganisms in the oral cavity such as Candida Albicans fungi. The purpose: of this study was to determine the effectiveness of denture cleaning ability of patchouli leaf extract (pogostemon cablin) against candida albicans growth on acrylic resin base. Methods: The type of research used is post test-only control group design to see whether denture cleaners from patchouli leaf extract are effective in inhibiting the growth of Candida Albicans on acrylic resin bases. The number of samples in the study were 30 samples with a diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 2 mm divided into five groups with three different concentrations, namely 25%, 50%, 75%, chlorhexidine 0.2% and distilled water as a negative control. Then tested using univariate test to see the number of Candida albicans, one-way ANOVA test to see the effect of soaking and LSD test to see the obstacle. The results: of the study using the one-way ANOVA test showed a p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), meaning that there were different and significant results. Conclusion: From the results of the study it can be concluded that immersion of heat cured acrylic resin denture bases in Patchouli oil extract at concentrations of 25%, 50%, more is effective in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans.
