Perilaku caring perawat merupakan suatu sikap kepedulian, menghargai dan menghormati perasaan pasien dengan cara mencurahkan segenap perhatian yang lebih banyak kepada pasien selama memberikan perawatan di rumah sakit. Perawat perlu memahami kondisi pasien baik fisik maupun psikis pasien. Pada kenyataannya hal tersebut belum dilakukan secara optimal dan belum terkoordinir dengan baik, dimana masih ada sebahagian perawat penaggungjawab pasien yang sudah memberikan tindakan namun tidak mengenal pasien tersebut, perawat hanya sebatas menjalankan tugas dan mengetahui kondisi psikologis pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik dan motivasi perawat dengan perilaku caring di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Kabupaten Pidie. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan desain cross sectional study pada 154 orang perawat menggunakan tehnik purposive sampling di 13 ruang di RSUD Kabupaten Pidie. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisa data menggunakan Chi square dan logistic regresion. Hasil uji Chi square didapatkan ada hubungan usia (p = 0,000), masa kerja (p = 0,009), dan motivasi (P = 0,000). Hasil uji logistic regression didapatkan faktor yang paling berhubungan dengan perilaku caring adalah usia perawat dengan nilai (P = 0,001, OR = 0,145).Usia perawat khususnya kategori dewasa awal mampu menujukkan perilaku caring meningkat sebanyak 1 kali dalam memberikan pelayanan pada pasien saat bekerja. Direkomendasikan kepada manajemen rumah sakit agar dapat memilih perawat pelaksana dengan melihat karakteristik usia masih dalam kategori dewasa awal, karena varibel uisa sangat berhubungan dengan perilaku caring. Terwujudnya perilaku caring pada perawat untuk pasien maka akan meningkatkan citra pelayanan rumah sakit juga khususnya RSUD Kabuapten Pidie.

Nurse caring behavior is an attitude of caring, appreciating and respecting the patient's feelings by devoting more and more attention to patients while providing care in the hospital. Nurses need to understand the patient's condition both physically and psychologically. In reality, this has not been carried out optimally and has not been well coordinated, where there are still some nurses in charge of patients who have taken action but do not know the patient, the nurse is only limited to carrying out their duties and knowing the patient's psychological condition. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the characteristics and motivation of nurses with caring behavior at the Pidie District General Hospital. This type of correlational quantitative research with a cross sectional study design on 154 nurses using a purposive sampling technique in 13 rooms at the Pidie District Hospital. Data collection using a questionnaire.Data analysis using Chi square and logistic regression. The results of the Chi square test found that there was a relationship between age (p = 0.000), years of service (p = 0.009), and motivation (P = 0.000). Logistic regression test results showed that the factor most related to caring behavior was the age of the nurse with a value (P = 0.001, OR = 0.145). The age of nurses, especially the early adult category, is able to show caring behavior that increases by 1 times in providing services to patients while working. It is recommended to the hospital management to be able to choose the implementing nurse by looking at the age characteristics that are still in the early adult category, because the age variable is closely related to caring behavior. The realization of caring behavior in nurses for patients will improve the image of hospital services as well, especially the Pidie District Hospital.
