Prarancangan pabrik sorbitol ini menggunakan metode hidrogenasi glukosa secara katalitik. Kebutuhan akan sorbitol diprediksi akan terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan industri di Indonesia, karena penggunaan senyawa sorbitol yang sangat luas di berbagai jenis industri. Perancangan pabrik ini memiliki kapasitas produksi 80.000 ton/tahun dengan hari kerja 330 hari/tahun. Bentuk perusahaan yang direncanakan adalah Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan menggunakan metode struktur garis dan staf. Kebutuhan tenaga kerja untuk menjalankan perusahaan ini berjumlah 116 orang. Lokasi pendirian pabrik berada di Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC), Kota Cilegon, Banten dengan luas tanah 26.400 m2. Sumber air pabrik sorbitol ini berasal dari air sungai Cidanau, sedangkan listrik diperoleh dari Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) dan Generator dengan daya 3.378,09 kW.
Hasil analisa ekonomi yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut :
1. Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) = Rp. 317.633.354.833,89,-
2. Working Capital Investment (WCI) = Rp. 35.292.594.981,54,-
3. Total Capital Investment (TCI) = Rp. 352.925.949.815,44,-
4. Total Production Cost (TPC) = Rp. 1.484.684.025,535,55,-
5. Sales Cost (SC) = Rp. 1.649.273.600.000,-
6. Laba Bersih = Rp. 123.415.180.848,34,-
7. Pay Out Time (POT) = 4,15 tahun
8. Break Event Point (BEP) = 48,03 %
9. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 24,76 %
10. Rate of Return (ROR) = 35 %
This preliminary of sorbitol plant design uses the catalytic hydrogenation method of glucose. The need for sorbitol is predicted to continue to increase in line with industrial growth in Indonesia, due to the extensive use of Sorbitol compounds in various types of industries. The production capacity of this plant is 80.000 tons/year with 330 working days/year. The planned form of the company is a Limited Liability Company (PT) using the line and staff structure method with 116 total employees. The factory is located in Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC), Cilegon, Banten with a land area of 26.400 m2. The water sources come from the Cidanau river, while the electricity is obtained from the State Electricity Company (PLN) and a generator with 3.378,09 kW power.
