Kesulitan merupakan suatu masalah yang harus diatasi dengan menggunakan tes diagnostik Four Tier Test. Four Tier Test merupakan tes yang tersusun dari empat tingkatan yaitu tingkatan pertama berisi tentang pengetahuan siswa, tingkatan kedua berisi tentang tingkat keyakinan, tingkatan ketiga berisi pilihan alasan, dan tingkat keempat merupakan tingkat keyakinan siswa dalam memilih alasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan soal diagnostic test pada materi garis dan sudut menggunakan tes diagnostik Four Tier Test. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deksriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 20 siswa pada kelas VIII MTsS Asaasunnajah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes diagnostik Four Tier Test dan pedoman wawancara, data yang telah dikumpulkan dilakukan triangulasi sumber data. Data hasil Four Tier Test kemudian dikelompokkan sesuai dengan kriteria pemahaman yang ditetapkan dan disajikan dalam bentuk persen dan rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya soal yang mengalami miskonsepsi (35%), tidak paham konsep (50%), dan yang memahami kosep (15%). Miskonsepsi terjadi pada setiap indikator materi garis dan sudut. Adapun penyebab terjadinya kesulitan bervariasi yaitu kurangnya informasi yang dipelajari, kurang pahamnya konsep dasar yang dipelajari sebelum masuk SMP, siswa menghafal konsep yang dipelajari tanpa memahami terlebih dahulu, kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam membedakan macam-macam sudut.

Difficulty is a problem that must be overcome by using the Four Tier Test diagnostic test. The Four Tier Test is a test composed of four levels, namely the first level contains student knowledge, the second level contains the level of confidence, the third level contains choices of reasons, and the fourth level is the level of student confidence in choosing reasons. This study aims to determine the difficulty of diagnostic test questions on the material lines and angles using the Four Tier Test diagnostic test. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 20 students in class VIII MTsS Asaasunnajah. Data collection techniques used the Four Tier Test diagnostic tests and interview guidelines, the data that had been collected was triangulated with data sources. Data from the Four Tier Test results are then grouped according to the established understanding criteria and presented in the form of percent and average. The results showed that there were questions that had misconceptions (35%), did not understand the concept (50%), and understood the concept (15%). Misconceptions occur in every line and angle material indicator. The causes of various difficulties are the lack of information learned, the lack of understanding of the basic concepts learned before entering junior high school, students memorizing the concepts learned without understanding them first, the lack of students' ability to distinguish various angles.
