Tradisi hantaran pernikahan adat Aceh mempunyai keunikan pada penutup
hantaran pernikahannya, masyarakat Aceh biasa menyebutnya sange (tudung saji)
Aceh. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan zaman beberapa tradisi dan kebudayaan
Aceh sedikit memudar akibat derasnya arus globalisasi, salah satunya adalah pada
hantaran pernikahan. Umumnya masyarakat pada era modern lebih tertarik dengan
apa yang sedang tren di masanya dan mengedepankan aspek estetika dan fungsi
dibandingkan aspek lainnya sehingga aspek filosofis seringkali terabaikan. Akibat
dari hal tersebut perlu adanya modifikasi pada hantaran pernikahan adat istiadat
Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodifikasi desain motif, warna serta teknik
menghias menggunakan teknik bordir dan sulaman payet pada hantaran pernikahan
adat istiadat Aceh serta mengetahui pendapat responden mengenai sange yang telah
dimodifikasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode
eksperimen terapan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian
ini berjumlah 3 orang yaitu ahli motif dan desain, dan pengrajin sange Aceh dan
pengguna sange Aceh. Pengambilan data subjek menggunakan teknik purposive
sampling yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Data yang
diperoleh pada penelitian ini didapat melalui teknik observasi, wawancara dan
Dokumentasi. Eksperimen yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil 2 produk sange Aceh
menggunakan desain motif Aceh pedalaman dan Aceh pesisir serta penggunaan
warna kain ungu dan pink. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa teknik sulaman payet
sudah banyak dibuat oleh pengrajin sange Aceh untuk meningkatkan penggunaan
sange Aceh karena teknik menghias sange Aceh pada umunnya dikerjaan
menggunakan keterampilan tangan seperti sulaman payet dan kasab, namun
penggunaan teknik hias bordir jarang ditemui oleh pengrajin sange Aceh.

But along with the times, several traditions and cultures Aceh is fading a little due to the swift currents of globalization, one of which is on wedding delivery. Generally, people in the modern era are more interested in what was trending at the time and put forward aesthetic and function aspects compared to other aspects so that the philosophical aspect is often overlooked. Consequence from this it is necessary to modify the delivery of customary marriages aceh. This study aims to modify the design motifs, colors and techniques decorate using embroidery techniques and sequin embroidery on the wedding delivery Acehnese customs as well as knowing the opinions of respondents about sange who have modified. The method used in this research is method applied experiment with descriptive qualitative approach. Subjects in research there are 3 people, namely motif and design experts, and Acehnese sange craftsmen and Acehnese Sange users. Retrieval of subject data using purposive techniques sampling, namely the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations. data that obtained in this study obtained through observation techniques, interviews and Documentation. The experiment was carried out to get the results of 2 Sange Aceh products using inland Aceh and coastal Aceh motif designs and usage purple and pink colors. The results showed that the technique of sequin embroidery many have been made by Acehnese sange craftsmen to increase usage sange Aceh because of the technique of decorating sange Aceh in general at work using hand skills such as sequin embroidery and kasab, however the use of decorative embroidery techniques is rarely found by Sange Aceh craftsmen.
