Gurita memiliki peran penting dalam sektor ekonomis dan merupakan salah satu
sumber daya hayati yang sangat mengandung gizi yang cukup tinggi dan menduduki
urutan ke tiga di dalam dunia perikanan setelah ikan dan udang. Gurita salah satu
hewan laut yang sangat digemari oleh konsumen lokan maupun konsumen
internasional. Berdasarkan survey awal yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, masyarakat
nelayan Desa Lamteungoh setelah melakukan perubahan metode penangkapan gurita
dengan menggunakan umpan buatan, mereka masih merasakan kebigungan dalam
menentukan warna umpan buatan yang lebih efektif untuk menangkap gurita. Oleh
karena itu penelitian ini perlu dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh waktu dan warna
umpan buatan terhadap hasil tangkapan gurita. Metode yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini yaitu metode experimental fishing. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang
dilakukan oleh peneliti selama 15 hari dengan menggunakan warna umpan yang
berbeda, diperoleh hasil tangkapan berupa 31 ekor gurita. Dengan mengunakan 3
umpan buatan berwarna coklat, merah, dan orange, hasil yang diperoleh yaitu 17
ekor gurita pada umpan berwarna coklat, 9 ekor gurita pada umpan berwarna merah,
dan 5 ekor gurita pada umpan berwarna orange. Pengujian (ANOVA) Rancangan
Acak Lengkap (RAL) berdasarkan perbandingan nilai F hitung dan F tabel
memberikan hasil bahwa perbedaan warna umpan buatan berpengaruh signifikan
terhadap hasil tangkapan gurita di perairan Lamtengoh, Aceh Besar. Berdasarkan
pengujian LSD, hasil tangkapan umpan berwarna coklat berbeda dengan umpan
berwarna merah dan orange, namun hasil tangkapan umpan berwarna merah tidak
berbeda dengan umpan berwarna orange..

Octopus is one of the biological resources with a high adequate nutrient content and ranks third in the world of fisheries after fish and shrimp. It plays a significant part in the economy. One marine species that is highly well-liked by both domestic and foreign consumers is the octopus. According to the researchers' initial survey, the fishing population of Lamteungoh Village is still unsure of the color of artificial bait that will catch octopuses more successfully after modifying their octopus fishing technique to employ artificial bait. As a result, this study is necessary to determine how the color of artificial bait affect octopus catches. The experimental fishing approach was employed in this study. The purpose of this study is to determine how variations in the color of artificial baits on octopus fishing rods affect the catch. based on findings from 15 days of research by experts using 31 octopuses were caught using various colored baits. Three artificial baits in the colors of brown, red, and orange were used, with the following results: 17 octopuses were caught on brown bait, 9 on red bait, and 5 on orange bait. The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) test shows that the change in artificial bait color has a substantial impact on octopus based on a comparison of computed F values and F table. data show that octopus catches in the waters around Lamtengoh, Aceh Besar, are significantly impacted by the color of artificial bait. According to the LSD test, brown bait has a different catch than red and orange bait, while red bait and orange bait have the same catch. Keywords : Octopus, Artificial Bait, Effect, Analysis
