Telah dilakukan penelitian yang berjudul pengaruh karakteristik sedimen terhadap kelimpahan gastropoda pada ekosistem rehabilitasi mangrove di Kuala Gigieng Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sedimen dan kelimpahan gastropoda pada ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada Bulan Februari hingga Maret 2022 pada tiga titik stasiun yang ditentukan berdasarkan purposive sampling. Sampel sedimen diambil menggunakan metode coring dengan ketebalan sedimen 35-40 cm dari permukaan. Metode ayak basah diaplikasikan untuk mendapatkan granulometri dari sampel yang telah diambil, dan menghasilkan ukuran butir rata-rata pada kategori pasir halus (medium sand). Tipe sedimen ditentukan berdasarkan segitiga Folk, dimana jenis sedimen pasir (sand) dan pasir dengan sedikit kerikil (slightly gravelly sand) ditemukan pada daerah penelitan. C-organik pada sedimen muara sungai lebih rendah dibandingkan pada lokasi mangrove yang padat. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara kelimpahan gastropoda dan sejumlah parameter fisik sedimen seperti ukuran butir rata-rata, c-organik, dan persentase lumpur. Dominansi gastropoda dipengaruhi oleh parameter fisik sedimen seperti persentase lumpur dan mean grain size.

A study entitled the effect of sediment characteristics on gastropods in mangrove rehabilitation ecosystems in Kuala Gigieng, Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar District has been carried out. This study aims to determine the characteristics of sediments and gastropods in the mangrove ecosystem. This research was conducted from February to March 2022 at three station points determined based on purposive sampling. Sediment samples were taken using the coring method with a sediment thickness of 35-40 cm from the surface. The wet sieve method was applied to obtain granulometry from the samples that had been taken, and resulted in the average grain size in the category of fine sand (medium sand). The sediment type is based on the Folk triangle, where the type of sand and lightly gravelly sand is found in the research area. C-organic in estuary sediments is lower than in dense mangrove locations. There was no relationship between gastropods and the number of physical parameters such as average grain size, c-organic, and proportion of mud. The dominance of gastropods is influenced by physical parameters of the sediment such as the percentage of mud and the average grain size.
