This research is an evaluative descriptive study. This research is to observe the existing condition in the application of English for Specific Purpose (ESP) in English teaching process at nursing academy of Tjoet Nya’ Dhien Banda Aceh. The scope of the research involved the lecturer’s preparation, the teaching techniques, the teaching activities, the teaching materials and resources, and the assessment on the students’ achievement. The subjects of this research were an English lecturer and the third semester students of Tjoet Nya’ Dhien Banda Aceh. The instruments used in collecting the data were observation sheet, interview guide, and documentation. The findings of this research consisted of three parts. The first findings from the observation; they are (1) the English lecturer prepared the syllabus and lesson plan. (2) the materials and learning resources were still not appropriately enough selected. (3) the timing of the teaching process was not well scheduled. The second findings from the interview; (1) the academic administrator did not ask the English lecturer to prepare her lesson plan in the beginning of semester (2) the English lesson is more focused on speaking. The last findings from documentation; they are (1) the English syllabus did not fully cover the nursing subjects which were contained in the curriculum. (2) the assessment on the students’ achievement was conducted well by the English lecturer.
