This script is entitled “Modeling Technique in Improving Students’ Speaking Skill
(An Experimental Research at First Grade of SMKN 5 Telkom Banda Aceh)” .One
class pre-test and post-test experimental design was applied in teaching process at
SMKN 5 Telkom Banda Aceh. This study is to know how Modeling technique
improves students’ scores in speaking. The population of this study was thefirst
grade students of SMKN 5 Telkom Banda Aceh which were taken randomly and the
dataof this study were collected on April 26
th
until May 10
th
,2014. Instruments for
this study are test. The test was imperative sentences that consists of . The data of
test were analyzed by using t-Formula to find out the t-score. The score of post-test
(75) was higher than pre-test (31.84). The mean score of post-test and pre-test is
(43.15). It was also shown that the difference value of t-score (10.81) was higher
than t-table (2.101). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the
null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. In conclusion, the writer concludes thatusing
Modeling technique can improve students’ speaking skill.
