Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sebagai salah satu kemampuan matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa yang berperan dalam mengoptimalkan kemampuan lainnya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun, kemampuan koneksi matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa bervariasi sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa beserta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Metode yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah Mix Method agar dapat menganalisis hasil pengerjaan siswa terhadap tes kemampuan koneksi matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa SMPIT Nurul Fikri Aceh Besar. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 34 siswa yang berasal dari kelas VII-A dan VII-C. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes koneksi matematis, angket kepercayaan diri, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil analisis kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa kelas VII yang diperoleh adalah 23 siswa memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis ketegori kurang sekali, 8 siswa kategori cukup, 2 siswa kategori baik, dan 1 siswa kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis angket kepercayaan diri siswa kelas VII diperoleh 15 siswa yang percaya diri akan kemampuan yang dimilikinya karena memiliki persentase di atas 50% pada tiap-tiap indikator kepercayaan diri dan 19 siswa tidak percaya diri akan kemampuan yang dimilikinya karena memiliki persentase di bawah 50% pada indikator kepercayaan diri tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa adalah lingkungan sekolah, pengetahuan prasyarat, dan siswa yang jarang memperoleh soal koneksi matematis. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepercayaan diri siswa adalah konsep diri dan lingkungan sekolah.

This research is motivated by the importance of students' mathematical connection skills as one of the mathematical abilities and students' self-confidence that plays a role in optimizing other abilities in learning mathematics. However, students' mathematical connection abilities and self-confidence vary, so the purpose of this study is to analyze students' mathematical connection abilities and self-confidence and the factors that influence them. The method used in this study is the Mix Method in order to be able to analyze the results of students' work on the mathematical connection ability test and self-confidence of the students of SMPIT Nurul Fikri Aceh Besar. The research subjects were 34 students from class VII-A and VII-C. The research instrument consisted of a mathematical connection test, a self-confidence questionnaire, and an interview guide. The results of the analysis of the mathematical connection abilities of class VII students obtained are 23 students have mathematical connection abilities in the very poor category, 8 students in the moderate category, 2 students in the good category, and 1 student in the very good category. The results of the self-confidence questionnaire analysis of class VII students obtained 15 students who were confident in their abilities because they had a percentage above 50% on each confidence indicator and 19 students were not confident in their abilities because they had a percentage below 50% in certain indicators of self-confidence. Based on the results of interviews, the factors that affect students' mathematical connection skills are school environment, prerequisite knowledge, and students who rarely get mathematical connection questions. The factors that influence students' self-confidence are self-concept and school environment. Keywords: Mathematical Connection Ability, Confidence
