The purpose of this study is to find out whether the use of multimedia software on the computer in teaching and learning improve students’ achievement in listening. The research applies the descriptive method in order to get the data on students’ answer (knowledge and performance). The population of this study was the eleventh grade, 2013-2014 Academic Year of LAB School Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, consisting of 22 students. The researcher provided a pre-test in the first meeting, then, post test in the last of meeting to assess the students’ achievement in this study. The mean of pre-test and post-test scores were 61 and 88,86. When two means were compared, the mean of post-test was higher than the mean of pre-test. The test was adjusted in accordance with the curriculum English that used for senior high school. The test can be said valid, because it only measures the students’ ability in listening comprehension, and reliability of the test can approved where the reliability coefficient (t-score) was greater than t-table which the researcher obtained 8.41, where t-table 8.41 &gt; (higher) than critical value on t-table 1.721 at the table of level significance 0.05% with degree freedom (df) 21.</note>
