Masuknya para suku pendatang ke daerah Kabupaten Aceh Tengah menyebabkan terjadinya dominasi ekonomi pada bidang perdagangan dan masuknya suku pendatang ke daerah ini juga menyebabkan terjadinya pembauran kebudayaan sehingga hal tersebut berimplikasi pada pergeseran budaya dan juga perpindahan masyarakat lokal dari daerah perkotaan menuju daerah pedesaan.Hal ini terjadi tentu disebabkan karena beberapa faktor tertentu. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya degradasi budaya pada masyarakat lokal suku Gayo di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah dan juga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Faktor-Faktor yang menyebebkan perpindahan masyarakat lokal dari daerah perkotaan menuju daerah pedesaan yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori praktik sosial dari Piere Bourdieu disertai dengan konsep budaya dan juga konsep degradasi. Penentuan informan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan juga dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya pergeseran atau degradasi pada kebudayaan masyarakat lokal suku Gayo di Kabuaten Aceh Tengah yaitu disebabkan karena adanya perkembangan zaman atau modernisasi, kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat Gayo dalam melestarikan Adat dan Budaya, serta terjadinya asimilasi. Kemudian hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa perpindahan masyarakat lokal dari daerah perkotaan menuju pedesaaan disebabkan karena dua faktor yaitu faktor ekonomi dan juga hilangnya rasa kekeluargaan di kalangan masyarakat Gayo.Dari beberapa faktor tersebut dapat di simpulkan bahwa terjadinya degradasi dan ruralisasi pada masyarakat lokal di kabupaten Aceh Tengah bersumber dari dalam masyarakat lokal sendiri yang menyebabkan kurangnya penerapan nilai simbolis dari adat dan budaya masyarakat tersebut.

The entry of migrant tribes into the Central Aceh Regency area caused economic dominance in the trade sector and the entry of ethnic immigrants into this area also caused cultural assimilation so that this had implications for cultural shifts and the displacement of local people from urban areas to rural areas. This of course occurs due to certain factors. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause cultural degradation in the local Gayo community in Central Aceh Regency and also this study aims to determine the factors that cause the displacement of local people from urban areas to rural areas carried out with a qualitative descriptive approach. , the theory used in this research is the theory of social practice from Piere Bourdieu accompanied by the concept of culture and also the concept of degradation. Determining the informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and also documentation. The results showed that the factors that caused a shift or degradation in the local culture of the Gayo tribe in Central Aceh District were due to the development of the times or modernization, the lack of awareness of the Gayo community in customary and cultural times, and the occurrence of assimilation. Then the results of the study also show that the displacement of local people from urban areas to rural areas, namely economic factors and also a sense of kinship among the Gayo community. From these several factors, it can be concluded that the occurrence of degradation and ruralization in local communities in Aceh Tengah district originates from within the local community itself which causes the lack of application of the symbolic values of the customs and culture of the community.
