Nyeri kronis merupakan salah satu gejala yang muncul akibat dari proses penuaan. Rasa nyeri yang terjadi pada lansia akan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas hidup dan kesehatan mental. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kualitas hidup dan kesehatan mental pada lansia dengan nyeri kronis di Kota Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan menggunakan metode pendekatan pendekatan cross sectional study. Teknik pengambilan sample adalah non probability sampling menggunakan teknik proposional purposive sampling dengan jumlah sample sebanyak 389 lansia dengan nyeri kroni di Kota Banda Aceh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Short Form 36 (SF-36) dan General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata kualitas hidup pada lansia nyeri kronis 59,13 dan tekanan psikologik yang cukup 135 lansia (34%). Diharapkan kepada lansia untuk meningkatkan informasi kesehatan sehingga kualitas hidupnya dapat meningkat dan diharapkan kepada lansia untuk lebih aktif dalam melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan untuk menghindari akan kesepian sehingga kesehatan mental dapan membaik. Dan diharapkan pula untuk petugas kesehatan dapat lebih mendukung para lansia dalam mengatasi masalah-masalah kesehatan lansia.

Chronic pain is one of the symptoms that arise as a result of the aging process. Pain that occurs in the elderly will affect their quality of life and mental health. The purpose of this study was to determine the overview of quality of life and mental health in the elderly with chronic pain in Banda Aceh. This descriptive study was conducted by means of a cross – sectional study approach. A number of 389 elderly with chronic pain in Banda Aceh were chosen as the samples by using a non probability; proportionate purposive sampling technique. The datacollection tools used were Short Form 36 (SF-36) and General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). The results indicated that the average quality of life of the elderly with chronic pain was 59.3 and 135 (34%) of the elderly had psychological stress in the sufficient category. Therefore, it is suggested that the elderly maintain their access to health information in order to improve their quality of life. The elderly are also expected to be more active in various activities and avoid loneliness so that their mental health will also be improved. It is also recommended that the health workers support the elderly in solving their health problems.
