The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of Indonesian monophthong vowels generated by female and male speakers in Banda Aceh who speak the language as their first language. The subjects in this research were ten males and ten females from Banda Aceh who were chosen through purposive sampling to generate eight target vowels.
