Indonesia merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk yang cukup besar. seiring pertumbuhan penduduk yang terus meningkat menyebabkan ketersediaan lapangan pekerjaan semakin sempit. salah satu cara menghadapi masalah ini adalah dengan membangun wirausaha, pertanian merupakan salah satu sektor wirausaha yang dipilih oleh para calon wirausahawan. terdapat banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi minat seseorang untuk melakukan wirausaha di bidang pertanian, namun disini penulis hanya memilih 5 faktor saja, diantaranya adalah potensi, lingkungan, pandangan terhadap bidang studi pertanian, faktor internal pendorong berwirausaha di bidang pertanian, dan faktor eksternal pendorong berwirausaha di bidang pertanian. adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan faktor-faktor manakah yang paling berpengaruh terhadap minat mahasiswa berwirausaha di bidang pertanian, di mana untuk penyelesaiannya menggunakan metode forward selection. metode forward adalah langkah maju di mana variabel bebas dimasukkan satu per satu berdasarkan urutan besar pengaruhnya terhadap model, dan pemasukan variabel akan berhenti jika semua syarat telah terselesaikan, yaitu saat tidak ada lagi variabel yang dapat dimasukkan ke dalam model.berdasarkan metode ini, terpilih variabel faktor eksternal untuk dimasukkan ke dalam persamaan dan model matematika terbaik yang terbentuk adalah: y ̂=10,804-1,189x_5 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor yang paling berpengaruh adalah faktor eksternal yang mengartikan bahwa setiap terjadi pertambahan faktor eksternal, maka minat mahasiswa berwirausaha di bidang pertanian akan menurun sebanyak 1,189 kali. kata kunci: model matematika terbaik, metode forward selection, minat berwirausaha

One way to deal with this problem is to build entrepreneurship. Agriculture is one of the entrepreneurial sectors chosen by prospective entrepreneurs. There are many factors that can influence a person's interest in entrepreneurship in agriculture, but here the author only chooses 5 factors, including potential, environment, views on the field of agricultural studies, internal factors driving entrepreneurship in agriculture, and external factors driving entrepreneurship in agriculture. agriculture. The purpose of this research is to determine which factors have the most influence on student interest in entrepreneurship in agriculture, where the solution is used for the forward selection method. The forward method is a step forward in which independent variables are entered one by one based on the order of magnitude of their influence on the model, and variable entry will stop when all conditions have been met, that is, when there are no more variables that can be entered into the model. The external factors to incorporate into the best formed mathematical equations and models are: x ̂=10,804-1,189x_5 So it can be concluded that the most influential factor is the external factor which means that every time there is an increase in external factors, the student's interest in entrepreneurship in agriculture will decrease by 1,189 times.
