Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana guru menggunakan kahoot! untuk membuat siswa menjawab pertanyaan reading comprehension, untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan kahoot! dalam menjawab pertanyaan reading comprehension melalui penilaian kelompok mampu meningkatkan nilai siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan melalui penilaian individu, dan untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa dalam menggunakan kahoot! di smpn 1 geumpang pidie. penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar metode campuran dengan menerapkan lembar observasi, wawancara dengan guru bahasa inggris dan siswa, dokumentasi, dan angket. hasilnya menyatakan bahwa guru menggunakan kahoot! dengan jelas dan mudah dan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara penggunaan kahoot! melalui penilaian individu dan kelompok. persentase nilai yang diperoleh siswa melalui penilaian individu sebesar 82,08%, dan melalui kelompok sebesar 95,00%. hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kelompok meningkatkan nilai siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan penilaian individu. selanjutnya, respon positif didapat dari siswa terhadap penggunaan kahoot!. para siswa berasumsi bahwa penggunaan kahoot! menyenangkan, menarik, memotivasi, dan memudahkan mereka dalam memahami teks bacaan. berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan kepada guru bahasa inggris baik di smp maupun sma untuk menerapkan kahoot! alat bagi siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan reading comprehension. kahoot! membuat siswa dan guru merasa lebih puas dan menyenangkan.

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to know how the teacher applied Kahoot! application to make students answer reading comprehension questions, to find out whether the use of Kahoot! in answering reading comprehension questions through group assessment is able to increase students’ scores significantly than through individual assessment, and to explore the students’ responses in using Kahoot! at SMPN 1 Geumpang Pidie. This research was conducted on the basic of mixed method by applying observation sheet, interviewing an English teacher and students, documentation, and questionnaire. The result revealed that the teacher used Kahoot! clearly and easily and there was a significant difference between the use of Kahoot! through individual and group assessments. The percentage of scores obtained by students through individual assessments is 82.08%, and through groups is 95.00%. This denoted that group assessments increased students’ scores significantly than individual assessments. Furthermore, the positive responses were gotten from the students toward the use of Kahoot!. The students assumed that the use of Kahoot! was fun, interesting, motivating, and easier to understand the reading text. Based on the result of this research, it is suggested that English teachers both at junior and senior high school should apply Kahoot! tool for students in answering reading comprehension questions. It makes students and teachers more satisfied and enjoyable.
