Abstrak- pada era dunia industri modern sekarang ini, diketahui bahwa tidak bisa lagi dipisahkan dengan masalah otomasi untuk berbagai sarana produksi ataupun pendukung produksi. otomasi selalu berkaitan dengan sistem kendali. sand filter berfungsi sebagai penyaring partikel-partikel kotor yang terkandung di dalam air menggunakan media filter berupa pasir silika dan gravel. metode pencucian filter di pdam tirta daroy lambaro masih dilakukan secara manual, yaitu operator melakukan pengamatan langsung kepada kondisi tangki tersebut dan melakukan proses pencucian pada tangki sand filter. pada penelitian ini dibuat sebuah prototipe sistem kendali sand filter berbasis programmable logic controller (plc) outseal v.4 dan v.5 dengan menggunakan water level sensor dan water flow sensor sebagai input. plc akan mengatur proses sand filter mulai dari proses filtrasi hingga proses backwash. hasil pengujian pengukuran water level sensor mampu membaca ketinggian air dengan nilai adc 650 bit kondisi high ketinggian 2,54 cm, serta kesalahan ketinggian persentase terbesar 1,54%. hasil pengamatan siklus terjadinya proses backwash selama 7 jam prototipe mampu melakukan 2 kali proses backwash. dari hasil pengujian komponen yang dilakukan selama 10 kali pengujian, plc mampu mengendalikan sistem sand filter dan telah bekerja dengan baik. kata kunci: pdam, programmable logic controller, sand filter,backwash.



Abstract

In today's modern industrial world, it is known that it can no longer be separated from the problem of automation for various production facilities or production support. Automation is always related to the control system of the increasingly diverse industrial facilities that require automation. The sand filter functions as a filter for dirty particles contained in the air using filter media in the form of silica sand and gravel. The filter washing method at PDAM Tirta Daroy Lambaro is still done manually, namely the operator makes direct observations of the condition of the tank and carries out the washing process on the sand filter tank. In this research, a prototype sand filter control system based on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Outseal V.4 and V.5 was made using a water level sensor and a water flow sensor as input. PLC will manage the sand filter process starting from the filtration process to the backwash process. The test results of the water level sensor are able to read air altitude with an ADC value of 650 bits in high conditions, as well as the highest error percentage of 0.19% and the results of observing the cycle of the backwash process for 7 hours are displayed in a time graph. From the results of component testing carried out for 10 times of testing, the PLC is able to control the sand filter system and has worked well.
