Rongga mulut manusia diperkirakan dihuni lebih dari 700 spesies bakteri. bakteri pada rongga mulut umumnya tidak menyebabkan infeksi, namun dapat bersifat patogen ketika ada faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti usia, sistem imum dan penggunaan antibiotik. media kultur adalah sarana pertumbuhan yang mengandung nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh bakteri untuk tumbuh diantaranya air, sumber karbon, sumber nitrogen dan beberapa garam mineral dalam pertumbuhannya. tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pertumbuhan bakteri pada media agar pada tang pencabutan gigi sesudah pencabutan gigi di rumah sakit gigi dan mulut universitas syiah kuala. jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimental menggunakan analisis deskriptif. penelitian dilakukan di rumah sakit gigi dan mulut (rsgm) universitasi syiahi kuala untuk pengambilan sampel swab tang pencabutan gigi dan tahap pemeriksaan sampel dilakukan di laboratorium fakultas kedokteran gigi. penelitian dilakukan pada bulan september-oktober 2021. penelitian dilakukan dengan kultur bakteri pada media na (nutrient agar), mha (mueller hinton agar), tsa (triptic soy agar), tys20b (trypticase soy-yeast 20 per cent sukrose with bacitracin) dan pewarnaan gram dengan pemeriksaan mikroskop. hasil penelitian media na ditemukan sebanyak 8 sampel, media tsa sebanyak 5 sampel dan tys20b sebanyak 6 sampel yang tidak ditumbuhi oleh bakteri. hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan distribusi frekuensi karakteristik pasien ditemukan 16 sampel berjenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 6 orang (37,5%) dan perempuan sebanyak 10 orang (62,5%) ditemukan 3 jenis spesies bakteri, bakteri tersebut adalah jenis bakteri gram positif yaitu bacillus sp, dipteroid basil sp, streptococcus mutans. media mha merupakan media umum yang efektif dalam pertumbuhan bakteri. kata kunci : tang pencabutan gigi, bakteri. media kultur

Abstract
The human oral cavity is estimated to be inhabited by more than 700 species of bacteria. Bacteria in the oral cavity generally do not cause infection, but they can be pathogenic when there are influencing factors such as age, immune system and the use of antibiotic. Culture media is a means of growth that contains nutrients needed by bacteria to grow including water, carbon sources, nitrogen sources and some mineral salts in their growth. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of bacterial growth in the agar media on the tooth extraction pliers after tooth extraction in The Teeth and Mouth Dentistry Hospital of The University of Syiah Kuala. The type of research used in this study was quasi-experimental research using descriptive analysis. The study was conducted in the Teeth and Mouth Dentistry Hospital (RSGM) of the University of Syiah Kuala for swab sampling of tooth extraction pliers and the sample examination stage was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Dentistry. The study was conducted in September-October 2021. The study was conducted with bacterial cultures on the media of NA (Nutrient Agar), MHA (Mueller Hinton Agar), TSA (Triptic Soy Agar), TYS20B (Trypticase Soy-Yeast 20 Per Cent Sukrose With Bacitracin) and gram staining with microscope examination. The results of the research show that there are 8 samples found in the media of NA, 5 samples found in the media of TSA, and 6 samples found in the media of TYS20B that were not overgrown by bacteria. The results of the research can be concluded that the distribution of patients’ characteristics frequency found 16 samples of the male sex as many as 6 people (37.5%) and female sex as many as 10 people (62.5%). It was also found that 3 types of bacterial species, the bacteria is a type of gram positive bacteria namely Bacillus Sp, Dipteroid Basil Sp, Streptococcus mutans.
