Key words : present perfect tense, performance, mastering. this study is focused on the students' performance of sma negeri baitussalam in mastering present perfect the objective of this study is to find out the students' performance of sma negeri 1 baitussalam in mastering present perfect. the number of sample was 49 students that taken from 2 classes (xii-ia1 and xii-la2). the method used in this study was descriptive quantitative method. here, the samples were given a set of test. the test consists of 45 that include statement, interrogative, and negative sentences of present perfect tense. the result of this research showed the highest score in this study is 88,8 and only one student obtains it from 49 students who took the test. meanwhile the lowest score was 17.8 and two students got it generally, the result of the test presents low percentages. for the statement sentences, the percentage which is achieved by the students is 52,7%, 43,1% for interrogative sentences and 46, 9
