Abstrak penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun jaloh (salix) terhadap persentase daging dada, nilai ph, persentase lemak kasar dan kadar kolesterol pada daging dada ayam broiler. penelitian ini menggunakan 12 ekor ayam broiler berusia 15 hari yang dibagi berdasarkan 3 perlakuan dosis ekstrak salix dengan 4 pengulangan. semua ayam ditempatkan pada kandang individu dengan temperatur tetap berkisar 25 ± 1oc menggunakan air-conditioner (ac) dan relative humidity (rh) 50-55% diberikan pakan normal dan air minum yang disuplementasi ekstrak salix 0 mg/l (es-0), 50 mg/l (es- 50) dan 100 mg/l (es-100). pakan dan air minum diberikan setiap hari secara ad libitum dan diperbaharui setiap 6 jam. pada hari ke 28, semua ayam di sembelih untuk diambil daging dadanya. persentase daging dada diukur berdasarkan jumlah pembagian antara bobot daging dada dan total karkas, nilai ph, persentase lemak dan kadar kolesterol diukur menggunakan ph meter, metode sochlet dan liebermann-burchard. hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak salix tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan (p> 0,05) terhadap persentase daging dada, ph dan persentase lemak kasar akan tetapi menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan (p< 0.01) terhadap kadar kolesterol. kata kunci: daun jaloh (salix tetrasperma roxb), persentase daging dada, nilai ph, lemak kasar, kadar kolesterol.



Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the administration effect of salix leaves on observation of pH value, crude fat percentage, cholesterol level and breast meat percentage in broiler chicken. This study used 12 broiler chickens with age of 15 days. They are separated based on 3 treatment doses of salix extract with 4 replications on each dose. The administration of treatment is done within 14 days. All the chicken was given normal rations with addition of salix extract except treatment 1 as a control (NE). Treatment 2 (E50) were the chickens which given additional salix extract ad libitum with 50 mg/l dose and treatment 3 (E100) with 100 mg/l dose continuously. The chickens are placed in individual cages with constant temperature of 25 ± 1oC in air-conditioned room and realtive humidity (RH) around 50-55%. After the chickens reach the age of 28 days, they are then slaughtered for the variables observation .The administration of salix extract on breast meat percentage, pH value and crude fat percentage are not showing the significant differences (P≥ 0,05) but showing very significant differences (P≤ 0,01) on the decreasing of cholesterol level in the breast meat.
