Siti Humaira Masni, PENGARUH TERUMBU KARANG TERHADAP KEBERADAAN FISHING HOTSPOT DI PERAIRAN UTARA ACEH.

Abstract

This research was carried out to understand the effect of coral reefs on the existence of fishing hotspots in the northern waters of Aceh, during June-August 2021. The study was conducted at five fishing villages located at Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar district, namely: (1)Peukan Bada, (2)Ulhe Lheue, (3)Lhok Nga, (4)Lampulo and (5)Alue Naga. This research was conducted using the RAFMS (Rapid Appraisals of Fisheries Management System) method which assess respondent information about the fishing management system and resources. Fishery resource descriptive analysis was carried out to interprate the result. The condition of coral reefs in the northern waters of Aceh has been influenced by 2 factors, namely human factors and natural factors. The destructive effect was mainly caused by human factors. The destructive fishing activities was the main practice that destroy the coral reefs. This condition give a negative impact to the amount of fish that were caught by the fisherman, particularly those whose catch targets are reef fishes, because it was found reduced their catches both, in terms of number and the diversity of reef fish.
