Abstract
Abstract Name : Syarifah Atthaya Student No. : 1606102020054 Study Program : English Education Title : Investigating Pre-Service English Language Teachers’ Understanding about TPACK Framework Key Words: Pre Service English Teachers, Understanding, TPACK This research aims at investigating pre-service English language teachers’ understanding about Technology Pedagogy Content Knowledge in English Language Teaching. For effective and successful language learning and teaching, it is important that the teachers know how to apply and understand the aspects of TPACK. TPACK is the new framework for teachers which involved three aspects they are technology, pedagogy and content knowledge. The researcher focuses on the pre-service English teacher at Syiah Kuala University. The result of this study shows that pre service English teachers at Syiah Kuala University have a high understanding of TPACK (M=3.81). The highest mean of TPACK is content knowledge 3.98, then it is followed by pedagogical knowledge 3.92. The third is technological pedagogical content knowledge 3.69 and the last is technology knowledge 3.65. For other researchers, they can conduct research related to TPACK implementation in the classroom, so it can be compared the understanding and acting in the field.
