In 2009, the growth of world population speed is very fast in total 6825 billion. indonesia is facing the problem of quantity and quality of human resources with the birth of the 5 million a year. family planning is one of preventive health services the most basic and main for the women. improvement and expansion of family planning services is an effort to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. this research uses descriptive method simple random sampling. the population of this research is fertile aged couples who visit the health center in banda aceh's ulee kareng sample numbered 100. the research was conducted in may through july 2011. research instruments in the form of questionnaires. the results of the knowledge age sterile couples profiles are in the category of genesis, in which 41 respondents (41%) for the knowledge age sterile couples about family planning in the good category in which the 44 respondents (44%) for the knowledge age sterile couples about contraception tool is in the category of genesis, in which 41 respondents (41%). keywords : knowledge, infertiles couples age, family planning
