Abstract
ABSTRACT Abstract of Final Paper Submitted of The Examination Committee in Partial Fulfillment of The Requirements for The Degree of Master of Management on Graduated Program of Syiah Kuala University THE ROLE OF JOB STRESS IN MEDIATING THE EFFECT OF PERFORMANCE PRESSURE AND WORK LOAD ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN MUHAMMADIYAH ACEH UNIVERSITY By: REZA JULI AMRI SN: 1901202010030 Concentration : General Management Supervisor : Dr. Sorayanti Utami, SE, M.M Co-Supervisor : Dr. Syafruddin, SE, MBA Employee performance contains work results in quality and quantity achieved by an employee in carrying out his duties according to his responsibilities. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of Performance Pressure and Workload on Work Stress and its impact simultaneously on employee performance. The population in this study were all employees who worked at the Muhammadiyah University of Banda Aceh, as many as 328 people. Sampling with the stratified random sampling method with a number of 140 people. The results showed that of the 5 direct hypotheses, 4 were accepted and 1 hypothesis was not significant, namely testing the effect of Performance Pressure on Employee Performance because it had CR and P values that did not meet the requirements. The results of indirect hypothesis testing, namely the effect of Performance Pressure and Workload on Employee Performance through Work Stress are significant. The role of work stress in this case is partial mediating. From the results of testing this hypothesis, it is proven that the largest coefficient value is the effect of work stress on employee performance at the Muhammadiyah University of Aceh. With a score of 0.614 or 61.4%, a number that is quite dominant in a multivariate regression coefficient like this study. This means that employee performance will be greatly influenced by job stress. The higher the work stress will reduce employee performance drastically. Likewise, on the other hand, the more employees are away from work stress, the better their performance will be. .
