Bring up pattern is parent attitude in interacting to the their child this parent attitude is including their method to giving the rules, present and also punishment, the parent way to show their authority, and ways of parent giving the concern and response to their child there are three types of the bring up pattern of the parent that is bring up pattern of autoriter, bring up pattern democratic and bring up pattern permissive the age of school was started when a child begin to go to elementary school about 6 to i years old the aim of this research is to know the image of bring up pattern mother on her school age child in village of tanjung selamat sub district of darussalam aceh besar frame work used was based on king's theory (i98i) and hurlock's theory (i993), the design of the reseach is descriptive with cross sectional study approach intake sample use the purposive sampling method, the sample amount of 68 persons. collecting device is inquiry in form of likert scale that consist of 24 statements that passed the validity and reliability test data analyzed by manually with assign the percentage then categorized based on technique of ordinal level category the result of the research obtained that the bring up pattern autoriter on school age child be at category tend to autoriter (52,9%), the bring up pattern permissive is be at category tend to permissive (54,4%) based on the result of the research expected mother use all of the three of bring up pattern, but by larger tendency on pattern of take care democratic, so that children can be grow in positive personality. key words : type of bring up pattern, mother, school age child daftar bacaan : 36 item(1990-2005)
