Abstrak pengaruh konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol dan media simpan untuk meningkatkan daya simpan dan viabilitas benih kakao (theobroma cacao l.) the effect of zpt paklobutrazol concentration and storage media to increase the storage capacity and viability of cocoa seeds (theobroma cacao l.) mila lestia, halimursyadah2, trisda kurniawan2 1mahasiswa jurusan agroteknologi, fakultas pertanian, universitas syiah kuala 2staf dosen jurusan agroteknologi, fakultas pertanian, universitas syiah kuala abstrak. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol dan media simpan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan daya simpan dan viabilitas benih kakao (theobroma cacao l.). penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan di laboratorium ilmu dan teknologi benih jurusan agroteknologi, fakultas pertanian, universitas syiah kuala pada bulan september sampai desember. rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (ral) pola faktorial 4 x 2 dengan 3 ulangan. faktor yang diteliti yaitu tingkat konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol yang terdiri dari 4 taraf ( kontrol, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm) dan jenis media simpan yang terdiri dari 2 taraf (arang sekam dan serbuk gergaji). analisis data menggunakan anova dan dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (bnj) pada taraf 0,05 %. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter persentase benih berkecambah dalam penyimpanan, daya tumbuh, kecepatan tumbuh relatif, dan tinggi bibit pada umur 10, 20, 30 hst, daya simpan dan viabilitas benih kakao terbaik dijumpai pada konsentrasi paklobutrazol 100 ppm.. hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jenis media simpan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kadar air benih dan berat berangkasan kering bibit kakao, daya simpan dan viabilitas benih kakao terbaik dijumpai pada media simpan arang sekam. terdapat interaksi yang berpengaruh nyata antara konsentrasi paklobutrazol dengan media simpan terhadap terhadap jumlah daun bibit kakao pada umur 30 hst, jumlah daun terbaik dijumpai pada konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol 150 ppm dengan media simpan arang sekam, dan konsentrasi zpt paklobutrazol 100 ppm jika dikombinasikan dengan media simpan serbuk gergaji. kata kunci : kakao, paclobutrazol, arang sekam, serbuk gergaji kayu. abstract. this study aims to determine the concentration level of paklobutrazol zpt and the appropriate storage media to increase the shelf life and viability of cocoa (theobroma cacao l.) seeds. this research will be conducted at the laboratory of seed science and technology, department of agrotechnology, faculty of agriculture, syiah kuala university from september to december. the research design used was a 4 x 2 factorial completely randomized design (crd) with 3 replications. the factors studied were the concentration level of paklobutrazol zpt which consisted of 4 levels (control, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm) and the type of storage media consisting of 2 levels (husk charcoal and sawdust). data analysis used anova and continued with the honest real difference test (bnj) at the 0.05% level. the results showed that the concentration of zpt paklobutrazol had a very significant effect on the parameters of the percentage of seeds germinated in storage, growth capacity, relative growth speed, and seed height at the age of 10, 20, 30 hst, the best shelf life and viability of cocoa seeds were found at 100 ppm paklobutrazol concentration. the results also showed that the type of storage media had a very significant effect on seed moisture content and dry weight of cocoa seeds. the best storage capacity and viability of cocoa seeds were found in the storage media for husk charcoal. there was a significant interaction between the concentration of paklobutrazol and storage media on the number of leaves of cocoa seedlings at the age of 30 hst, the best number of leaves was found at 150 ppm paklobutrazol zpt concentration with husk charcoal storage media, and 100 ppm zpt paklobutrazol concentration when combined with powder storage media saw. keywords: cocoa, paclobutrazol, husk charcoal, wood sawdust
