Tesis pengaruh kompetensi terhadap peran manajer proyek dalam menentukan keberhasilan pembangunan proyek konstruksi di kabupaten aceh barat muharizal nim. 1704201010070 magister teknik sipil jurusan teknik sipil – fakultas teknik universitas syiah kuala abstrak kontraktor sebagai pelaksana kegiatan konstruksi pada dasarnya dibekali dengan kompetensi, karena berpengaruh langsung kepada keberhasilan sebuah pekerjaan. keberhasilan sebuah pekerjaan sangat dipengaruhi oleh manajer proyek selaku penanggung jawab pekerjaan. keberhasilan dalam mengerjakan pekerjaan juga berdampak terhadap peningkatan kinerja perusahaan. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kompetensi manajer proyek dalam menentukan keberhasilan proyek konstruksi. metodologi yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif dengan kuesioner sebagai instrumen penelitian. jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 55 responden dari jumlah populasi 121 perusahaan. hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan analisis principal component analysis (pca) menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor kompetensi yang dapat menentukan keberhasilan proyek konstruksi adalah faktor komitmen kerja & sikap prilaku; faktor keahlian/skill; faktor sumber daya; faktor pengetahuan; faktor manajemen; dan faktor kepedulian. sedangkan faktor kompetensi dominan penentuan keberhasilan proyek konstruksi ialah faktor komitmen kerja & sikap prilaku dengan nilai varians sebesar 27,321%. indikator dari faktor komitmen kerja & sikap prilaku adalah mampu mengambil keputusan; bekerja keras dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan; memiliki kepercayaan diri yang baik; memiliki etos kerja yang baik; insentif proyek lancar; tingkat kemampuan bekerja melebihi standar biasanya; tingkat rasa bangga bekerja di perusahaan; tingkat rasa bangkit melalui prestasi kerja; perasaan senang bekerja di perusahaan; dan perusahaan merupakan pilihan terbaik untuk bekerja. kata kunci: kompetensi, keberhasilan, manager proyek, proyek konstruksi i thesis influence of competence on the role of project managers in determining the success of construction project construction in aceh barat district muharizal student reg. no. 1704201010070 master program of civil engineerig civil engineering department of engineering faculty universitas syiah kuala abstract the contractor as the executor of construction activities must basically have competence, because it directly affects the success of a job. the success of a job is strongly influenced by the project manager as the person in charge of the work. success in doing work also has an impact on improving company performance. this study aims to determine the factors that influence the competence of project managers in determining the success of construction projects. the methodology used is qualitative and quantitative methods with questionnaires as research instruments. the number of samples used was 55 respondents from a total population of 121 companies. the results obtained based on principal component analysis (pca) analysis show that competency factors that can determine the success of a construction project are work commitment & attitude behavior; skill / skill factor; resource factor; knowledge factor; management factors; and caring factors. while the dominant competency factor determining the success of a construction project is the work commitment & attitude attitude factor with a variance value of 27,321%. indicators of work commitment & attitude behavior are able to make decisions; work hard at getting work done; have good confidence; have a good work ethic; current project incentives; the level of work ability exceeds the usual standard; the level of pride at work in the company; the level of sense of awakening through work performance; feeling happy working at the company; and the company is the best choice for work. keywords: competence, success, project manager, construction project. ii
