Abstrak penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh seduhan kelopak rosela terhadap tingkat kesembuhan mencit yang diinduksi enteropathogenic escherichia coli (epec). penelitian dilakukan pada bulan februari sampai juli 2014 di vivarium, laboratorium mikrobiologi dan laboratorium mikroteknik jurusan biologi fmipa unsyiah. penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (ral) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. perlakuan terdiri atas pemberian akuades (p0), epec dan akuades (p1); epec dan antibiotik nifuroxazide (p2), epec dan seduhan kelopak rosela dengan variasi dosis 0,04 g/20g bb (p3), 0,08 g/20g bb (p4), dan 0,12 g/ 20g bb (p5). paparan epec diberikan secara oral sebagai penginduksi diare sebanyak 6,0×108 cfu/ml selama 7 hari. perlakuan antidiare diberikan secara oral pada hari ke-8 hingga ke-11 sesuai dengan pemberian antibiotik standar. hasil penelitian menunjukkan seduhan kelopak rosela dosis 0,04 g/ 20g bb dan 0,08 g/ 20g bb dapat menyembuhkan diare yang diakibatkan oleh epec. kata kunci: hibiscus sabdariffa l., epec, antidiare abstract this study was performed to the effect of rosela calyx infusion for the recovery level mice induced by enterophatogenic escherichia coli (epec). this research was conducted in february – july 2014 at vivarium, microbiology laboratory, and microtecnic laboratory, biology department, mathematic and natural sciences faculty (fmipa). completely randomized, design (crd) was applied of the research, consisted of 6 treatments and 4 repeatation of each treatment. the treatment were: aquadest (p0); epec and aquadest (p1); epec and antibiotic nifuroxazide (p2); epec and different dose of rosella 0,04 g/ 20g bb (p3); 0,08 g/ 20g bb (p4), and 0,12 g/ 20 g bb (p5). each group were infected orally by 6,0× 108 cfu/ml of epec for 7 days, treatments given antidiarrheal orally from 8th to 11th according to standar of antibiotic. the result showed that 0,04 g/ 20g bb and 0,08g/ 20 g bb rosella dose can recover diarrheal mice caused by epec. key word: hibiscus sabdariffa l., epec, antidiarrheal
