Abstrak abstract of final paper submitted to the examination committe in partial fulfilment of the reguiment for the degree of master of manajemen on graduate program of syiah kuala university the effect of creative economic development programs on the performance and business performance based on lucos of control strengthening and the competency of msme entrepreneurs in the city of banda aceh by: elmi suraya npm : 1801202010021 specialization : general management supervisor : dr. said musnadi, se, m.si co-supervisor : prof. dr. m. shabri, se, m.ec this study examines and analyzes the moderating effects of creative economic development programs and business performance mediation on the relationship of locus of control and business competence on business survival, by taking the case of micro, small and medium enterprises (msmes) in banda aceh city, indonesia. the number of msmes engaged in various business sectors is not known with certainty, so this study only selected 192 msmes engaged in the creative economy as research samples. by using the structural equation modeling (sem) technique, this study documents that strengthening locus of control has a significant impact on business performance and business survival of msmes. in addition, entrepreneurial competence was also found to have a significant positive impact on business performance and business continuity of msmes. finally, this study also notes the mediating effect of business performance and creative economic development on the influence of locus of control and business competence on the survival of msme businesses. the results of this study indicate that to ensure business continuity, focus must be given to improving the performance of msmes through enhancing employee locus of control and competence. keywords: locus of control, competence, performance of msme actors and the sustainability of msme and creative economy development program. viii abstrak abstrak karya akhir diserahkan kepada panitia komisi ujian untuk mendapatkan gelar magister manajemen pada program pasca sarjana universitas syiah kuala pengaruh moderasi program pengembangan ekonommi kreatif terhadap kinerja dan keberlangsungan bisnis berbasis penguatan lucos of control dan komptensi kewirausahaan pelaku umkm di kota banda aceh oleh: elmi suraya npm : 1801202010021 konsentrasi : manajemen umum pembimbing pertama : dr. said musnadi, se, m.si pembimbing kedua : prof. dr. m. shabri, se, m.ec penelitian ini mengkaji dan menganalisis efek moderasi program pengembangan ekonomi kreatif dan mediasi kinerja bisnis pada hubungan locus of control dan kompetensi bisnis terhadap kelangsungan hidup bisnis, dengan mengambil kasus usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah (umkm) di kota banda aceh, indonesia. jumlah umkm yang bergerak di berbagai sektor bisnis tidak diketahui secara pasti, sehingga studi ini hanya memilih 192 umkm yang bergerak di bidang ekonomi kreatif sebagai sampel penelitian. dengan menggunakan teknik structural equation modeling (sem), penelitian ini mendokumentasikan bahwa penguatan locus of control memiliki dampak signifikan pada kinerja bisnis dan kelangsungan hidup bisnis umkm. selain itu, kompetensi kewirausahaan juga ditemukan memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap kinerja bisnis dan kelangsungan bisnis umkm. akhirnya, penelitian ini juga mencatat efek mediasi dari kinerja bisnis dan pengembangan ekonomi kreatif pada pengaruh locus of control dan kompetensi bisnis pada kelangsungan bisnis umkm. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk memastikan kelangsungan bisnis, fokus harus diberikan untuk meningkatkan kinerja umkm melalui peningkatan locus of control dan kompetensi karyawan. kata kunci: locus of control, kompetensi, kinerja pelaku umkm dan keberlangsungan umkm dan program pengembangan ekonomi kreatif.
