According to the government regulation of the republic of indonesia, "a museum is an institution that serves to conserve, develop, and utilize any collections, and communicate them to the community" [1]. in order to meet the information needs of history, tourism, and education, existence of museum of history and culture in pidie district is, therefore, urgently needed. in designing process of the museum, the theme of metaphor architecture will be adopted in composing of planning concept in order to achieve the targeted goals with the principles of metaphor architecture. keywords: museum, pidie district, metaphor architecture.
