Abstrak penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh kepribadian tipe d terhadap kepuasan hidup dengan dukungan sosial sebagai variabel mediasi pada mahasiswa s1 fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis universitas syiah kuala. sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa aktif s1 pada semester ganjil 2018/2019 fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis universitas syiah kuala yang berjumlah 241 responden. peralatan pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuisioner. teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah proportionate stratified random sampling. hierarchical linear modelling (hlm) digunakan sebagai metode analisis untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari semua variabel-variabel yang terlibat. berdasarkan hasil analisis hlm, mengindikasikan bahwa kepribadian tipe d berpengaruh negatif terhadap kepuasan hidup, kepribadian tipe d berpengaruh negatif terhadap dukungan sosial, dukungan sosial berpengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan hidup, dan dukungan sosial memediasi hubungan kepribadian tipe d terhadap kepuasan hidup. kata kunci: kepribadian tipe d, kepuasan hidup, dukungan sosial, hierarchical linear modelling abstract this study aims to measure the effect of type d personality to undergraduate student’s life satisfaction in economic and business faculty of syiah kuala university with social support as mediating variable. the sample used in this study were active undergraduate student’s in odd semester 2018/2019 is totalling 241 respondents. data collection equipment used in this study was a questionnaire. the sampling technique used is proportionated stratified random sampling. hierarchical linear modelling (hlm) was used as a method of analysis to determine the effect of all the variables involved. based on the result of the hlm analysis indicated that type d personality negatively influence life satisfaction, type d personality negatively influence social support, social support positively influence life satisfaction and social support mediate the relationship between type d personality and life satisfaction. keywords: type d personality, life satisfaction, social support, hierarchical linear modelling
